The Fifth- A Star Rider Story (Under Edits)

Prologue: getting accepted to Moorland Stables.

My name's Kate Mountainstar,and,before last summer,I was just a normal,horse crazy girl. but then the Equestrian Team from my riding stables made it to Regionals. I was only a reserve,but that saturday was a really good day. well,not if you ask Alicia Wolfe. she was warming up when her horse Presley freaked out,throwing her and running away,injuring himself in the process. coach was really angry at poor Alicia,who had broken her wrist. finally,she turned to me,scowling,and I was really scared because I thought she was gonna blame me. "Mountainstar,you're up."

"who-what,me?"

"yes,you. Fin's on vactation. get your horse and get warmed up. you're first."

first up,we've got a change in the lineup from Blue Swan Equestrian center,Kate Mountainstar on Silver."I kept the gray in a canter around the perimeter of the ring until i reached the start and the horn sounded. I let the mixed warmblood into a faster canter and checked him just before the jump. he went over beautifully. turning sharply,we accelerated until two strides before the jump,and I checked again, making Silver leap easily over the obstacle. after the twelve jumps,I was thrilled. we'd never done so well. my performance clenched the red ribbon for our team,and the blue individual ribbon for me. afterward,I was brushing Silver when I was approached by an older man,rather round,and with one of those hats-i don't know what they're called- like in Princess and the Frog,the one the prince wears. "hello,Kate Mountainstar,isn't it?"he smiled cheerfully. I couldn't help but smile back. "yeah. and you are?

"I'm Thomas Moorland. I saw you ride. you were amazing."

"thank you."

"I was wondering if you'd like to ride at my stables."

"oh,thanks,but--"then I stopped. "wait,Moorland Stables? you're the Thomas Moorland?"

"you know of my stables,then?"

"well,yeah. on Jorvik,right? that' where Lisa Starfield and Ann Sunheart were trained. they're,like,my idols."

"so,would you like to come train there?"

"of course! I'd love to."

"great. I'll arrange passage by boat for you."

"why not a plane?"

"would you rather fly?"

"no,I just--"

"it's cheaper. we're,um...well,it's better."

I nodded,not sure what he meant. "okay. thank you so much."

Note: the last names of the Star Stable (also Starshine Legacy) characters are not real. I made them up as i have no idea what their last names are.  but Kate Mountainstar is MY character,whom I made when I created my account. :) please be patient,as I have no idea when I'll be able to update.
