"Symere where are you taking me" I said looking out the window.
We have been driving for like an hour now, and all I see is trees. This long road was making me think about the movie wrong turn. It was kind of creepy.
"You will see in a minute" He said smiling.
Symere seemed to be really excited about where we were going. But I was getting annoyed , because I wanted him to tell me.
All he told me was that we are going on a date. Now we are driving in the middle of nowhere.
"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you. I ran into Britney."
"Ohh when?"
"She works at the front desk at this hair salon I went to on our birthday."
"Oh word did she say anything to you?"
"She didn't know who I was until I said something to her"
"Aw what you say" Symere said looking at me then back at the rode.
"She was blowing your shit up. I watched her call and leave voicemails saying "CaLL mE BAcK" "I thought we put the whole situation behind us" and some more shit" I started then paused to look at him to see if he got what I said.
"So I went up to her and said that you and me a thing now"
"That's all you said?"
"Yeaa"
I could tell he knew I was lying but he didn't question it he just kept driving.
"Look even though she cheated on me and we are not together. I still care about her" Symere said grabbing my hand
"Huh?" I said confused
"I mean of course I care about you more because you my girl Treasure and I love you. But what I'm saying is Britney will always have that little corner of my heart. I've been with her for a real long time, hell she was my inspiration for my music" Symere said has he continue to drive.
I just decided to stay quiet because I didn't know how to respond to what he just told me. I didn't want to say the wrong thing. Then we start arguing and shit. One thing my mama always told me was listen before you act or speak.
"Fuck her for cheating on me and breaking my heart, but fuck her respectfully"
"I guess I know what you're trying to say" I laughed
"Good because I'm bad at trying to explain things sometimes"
I held Symere hand tighter and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
"Alright we are here"
"O wow this is beautiful" I said looking out the window.
Symere parked the car, got out and walk around to open the door for me.
"What are we doing here?"
"It's a picnic" He smiled.
He popped open the trunk and pulled out a big basket and handed me a red plaid blanket.
"You are too cute" I said smiling back
I followed Symere to the deck where the water surrounded it perfectly.
"The water is so clear"
"Wanna get in?" he asked
"Oh no I can't swim"
"What ? I'm going to teach you one day"
"What you bring to eat?" I said opening the basket.
In the basket there was two deli sandwiches, two waters and pop tarts scattered everywhere.
"Symere" I held a pop tart in the air.
"I love pop tarts" He said taking it out my hand.
I smiled at him as he started to eat his pop tart. He was too cute.
"Come on get in the water" Symere helped me up off the ground and started to pull towards the end of the deck.
"Nooooooo I can't swim" I yelled.
"I'm not going to let you drown come on"
"Oh my gosh no. I'm scared and in plus I don't have a change of clothes"
"So"
"Here get on my back"
"Uhhh okay you win" I said giving in to the pressure.
Symere put me on his back and ran to the end of the deck and jumped. He didn't even ask me if I was ready or nothing.
I felt water go up my nose and it started to burn. I began to panic splashing water left to right.
"Calm down I got you" Symere said trying to hold me so I would stop splashing.
"Nooo I can't breathe I'm scared"
I could tell Symere was getting frustrated with me because I wouldn't stop panicking but... hey I thought I was going to die.
He pulled me up out the water and sat me on the deck and looked at me.
"Really treasure"
"Gee I'm fine symere I totally was not dying just now" I said sarcastically
"Don't give me sarcasm that was really a show u put on"
"How was that a show you didn't even ask if I was ready? I said I can't swim"
" Treasure ."
"What symere . What "
" treasure I told you I had you when we were in the water."
"Yea cause that supposed to calm me down"
"Britn— Treasure well what was I supposed to do".
"Wait did you just call me..." I said as I slowly started to get up.
"No . Wait tre where you going?"
"Who's tre?" I said calmly
"Thought I was Britney?"
Symere sucked his teeth in frustation as he followed me.
"Where are you going there's no where to go"
I kept continuing to walk until I couldn't hold it in anymore. I fell down to the grown and broke out in tears.
"Treasure I'm sorry"
"I'm sorry too" I said in between tears.
"I'm sorry I can't be like Britney for you"
"Who said I wanted you to be like Britney?" He asked .
I ignored him as I wiped my eyes looking at the sunset. Symere sat next to me and watched with me.
"How can you love someone new when your heart is with someone else?" I asked
Symere just looked at me as if he was searching for the right answer.
"Treasure I love you and only you. Me and Britney are done. We just decided to be friends after the relationship.
But once I started feeling you .I cut her off because I know I would be hurting my self hanging with my past.
"I'm sorry I'm dramatic sometimes" I said laughing a little
"It's okay" Symere said pulling me close to him. As we still sat on the ground watching the sun set.
"I love you and only you too"
