"Janette! Time for dinner! And clean your room, we are having company tomorrow night." Ugh. That's my mum. She's so controlling. But I love her more than anything in the world. Some intern from my dad's company is coming over. He works for my dad and he's really cute, but he seems sketchy and mysterious at the same time. He is average height with short, black hair with a muscular tone. He looks about 18 years old, but yet I'm still a little twelve year old girl thinking about her future.
I'm gonna go get my dinner. While I eat, a knock is heard on the door. I look at my mother, but she is just as confused and shrugs her shoulders. She peeks into the window and immediately smiles. "I'll get it," she says. When mom opened the door, I quickly hid my unicorn shorts under the table. His baby blue eyes twinkle in the moon as he gently greets my mum. "Hello Mrs. Lake! Mr. Lake," Then he looked at me with a devious grin, "Janette. How are you all doing?" I blushed profusely and looked away. "Well, I've got homework to do. I'll be upstairs. Goodnight mum and dad. Goodnight Mr. Evans," I said while nervously walking up the stairs to my colorful room.
I sighed while walking into my bathroom. While forcing myself to look in the mirror, I realized that I was slim with no curves. How will I ever be good enough for Oliver Evans? Taking a wipe, I started removing my makeup off my pale face. I took a hair tie and put my dark brown hair into a messy bun. Looking at myself in the mirror makes me feel insecure. I started to point out the deformities that I had created for myself. My face is too round. It has no dimension. Compared to the other girls at school, I'm a leaf on a flower whose simplicity isn't recognized. With all the wrong things in my head, I drift to sleep.
