A/N: Note, Percy and Annabeth haven't gotten together yet in this one shot. Hope you like! I thought Percy was adorable, hehe.

I. Jealousy

Percy wasn't quite why he was here.

But what was Annabeth doing?

Styx, what was he doing?

There he was, standing, partially hidden behind a tree, watching her talk to some camper. He had followed her from the dining pavillon all the way to archery class. If he got caught... Well, of all places, did they have to be all buddied up in the archery field!?!? And what was he supposed to do now? Just continue watching them like an idiot? Watching her talk, smile, laugh... Why was she talking to him? Why was she smiling at him? Why was she laughing like that?

Percy frowns, she was talking to a son of Demeter, not son of Hermes. How could he possibly be that funny that she'd laugh so often? He wasn't too handsome either, not ugly, but not hot either. But come on, you could see his crooked teeth from where he was sitting! But why was he so annoyed? As if, as if he wasnted to take Riptide and just go around beating people up like an Ares kid? Why did he want to march up to the guy and run him through with his sword? Why was his chest tight, breathing heavy, and honestly? Like an Aphrodite girl.

He scrunched up his nose, knowing the reason. But Percy didn't want to admit it. He wasn't a complete idiot. He knew he liked Annabeth. Liked, liked her. He had for a while, but he never felt like this. Like, a clump in his throat, his fists clenching, feeling possessive just from a guy talking to his girl.

Percy froze. His girl? Where had that come from? His lips curve into a grin. Never mind that, he liked the sound of it. His girl, his Annabeth. Not that he was objectifying her. Gods no. He just enjoyed the thought of her being his.

But then suddenly, Annabeth seemed to have spotted him. Somehow, he had moved during his thoughts, and now was leaning against the tree. Percy started mentally freaking out. What was he supposed to do now? What was he supposed to say? He knew she wouldn't rest until the truth got out, and then she'd kill him. Styx, what had he gotten into? He was still panicking internally when her action stops him.

She tilted her head slightly towards the guy and rolled her eyes discretly.

Instantly, relief flowed through his body. She was bored. The guy bored her. A feeling bubbled in his chest, a feeling of wanting to laugh at the fact that the guy was boring her. He quickly regained composure and grinned, winking at her to signal he had a plan.

Annabeth rolled her eyes again, but this time it was more playfully. She made a face at him saying, "Gods, I hate your plans." Percy raises an eyebrow and mouthed, walking closer so she could actually read his lips.

"So you don't want me to help you?" He smirks, toying with her. Annabeth's eyes widen and she shakes her head slightly, casting a weary glance at the guy. Percy's smirk grows wider and he reaches them.

Tapping the guy's shoulder, he casually went around and slung an arm around Annabeth's shoulder. "Sorry to interrupt," he said, not sounding sorry at all, "But I've got to bring her to sword-fighting class."

The guy knits his eyebrows together, "But you said you didn't have any cl-"

Annabeth cuts him off, practically dragging Percy away, "Bye! Gotta go! Class awaits me!"

Percy laughs softly at her eagerness, "Wow Wise Girl, so nice of you."

She nudges him, still somewhat draggin him a little further, "Yeah, yeah, but thanks for helping me get rid of him."

He flips his hair jokingly, "What can I say? I'm amazing."

She pokes his chest, "Whatever you say, Seaweed Brain."

And suddenly, everything felt right again.
