Seers, to me, are the most interesting of classes.
They "invite understanding through their aspect", which means to me they have to do it willingly. Two Seers we have seen so far from Homestuck are Rose Lalonde and Terezi Pyrope, and they are an example of having to allow the understanding to take place. Terezi rejected her aspect for a time, and acted like a Heart player; trying to set a personality in place for herself through roleplay and FLARPing. Because she was suddenly pushed from the Heart aspect to Mind through becoming blind, she had to allow her lusus to teach her how to see differently through telepathic communication. She then, in turn, had to become rational and choice driven. Everything that Terezi did was for rights sake, even if it didnt turn out as she expected in the end. Rose also rejected her aspect, turning to her mother, who was full of mystery and "Void". She was known as the "sarcastic one", because she was always trying to obscure her information through misplaced words. Then, when she turned grimdark and was killed off by Jack, her dreamself was forced to face the Light aspect, to gain information to help her friends on the meteor in the Retcon timeline, where Vriska was alive.
Kankri might have been the same way, before he became serious about his friends. He might have gone to breath to be carefree and without worry of the shit he was doing coming back to bite him in the ass later. And then, maybe by some god awful miracle of events taking place, he became the talkative little asshole he is today, through the aspect of connections and self-loathing. I'm sorry for the strong language, I just hate that I could not read Kankri's text because it was so small. I could have gotten some vital information and understanding of Beforus and Alternia from that. But noooooooo, he had to do it all in one take.
Back on topic; Seers. When a seer goes god tier, they see into their aspect, invite visions and information through their aspect, and even master it to the point where they are even able to take control of the visions they have, and synthesize them into an endgame solution. But, as a Seer, you cannot act; you acting out on your visions would mean disaster. Being a Seer means you have to manage your aspect through others to get the best result possible. If your team-mates are unreliable, it makes everything just as bad. Having unreliable team-mates as a Seer would mean you would need to do twice as much work than anyone should normally do, and keep everyone's shit together until the end: this might even mean you would have to manage and plan your actions extra carefully, and execute them with absolute precision. Acting as a Seer means tightrope walking on weak floss; the floss is easily breakable. But what use is floss when you can fly? To be an active Seer, you must absolutely master the knowledge your aspect has to offer and go God-Tier. Plus, if your team-mates want victory, they would have to get up off their asses and try to get their shit together.
I believe that sometimes, as a Seer, it is hard to determine what your aspect is at first, because without the disaster or event that pushes you into your aspect happening, your true self and visions of fruitful information would be left in the dirt to rust and rot away. You would continue almost aimlessly; getting everywhere and nowhere at the same time. You would be stuck ghosting the opposite aspect for a very long time, until some hint that you were meant for something else hits you, and hits you hard. That might not even happen though. It could be forever that you never realize your destiny, and forever you never realize your potential. That would be very bad for a Seer, almost backwards even. But then again, Seers are almost always pushed into their aspect. To not have that event happen is a doomed timeline. It is inevitable that it all goes to shit, because one wrong move and you have a doomed session without a retcon infested idiot, needing a Seer for guidance, but instead getting a confused idiot, wondering why the hell everything is in shambles.Anyway, that is my take on Seers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away, because I try to keep up with all my social media as much as I keep up with my grades.
