Lightning flashes through the dark forest, lighting it up like a christmas tree. Rain violently pours down, turning the dirt on the forest ground into mush of fallen pine needles, broken branches and leaves. A scream rings out like a church bell. It belongs to a woman in a cloak, who dashes through the forest, stumbling and being caught in the mud. In her arms, she clenches a mysterious object wrapped in a black, tattered blanket. Behind the woman seven shadowy figures chase after her. Lightning flashes again, revealing the shadowy figures to be a pack of vicious wolves. As the woman tries to outrun the wolves, one of the wolves manages to get a hold of her leg and tears a gash. Her blood drenches the wolf's face and his fur turns a blood red color. The woman is violently tackled to the ground and lets out a cry. The package, which she was clenching is flung into the bushes. She unsuccessfully tries to stand up, however she does manage to get on one knee and starts to pray, knowing that she won't make it out of the forest alive. The pack of wolves surround her, snarling and baring their teeth. The wolves let out a loud howl and begin to move towards her. All of the sudden, lightning flashes and a hulking, beast-like, shadowy figure with glowing, red eyes appears from the shadows. The figure viciously attacks the leader of the pack, mauls him, and lets out a frightening roar. The rest of the wolves flee, fearing for their lives. The woman, exhausted and filled with fear, passes out, but not before glimpsing an amulet with a wolf on it, worn around its neck.
In the morning, the woman is violently awoken to the sound of gunshots. She sits up on the couch that she mysteriously woke up in and looks around to see where she was. She sees that she is in a log cabin. All of the furniture in the cabin is made of wood, excluding the tv, which has a shattered screen and a broken antenna. In fact everything in the cabin is trashed. The table is flipped over, the chairs are broken apart, and there were papers spreaded all over the floor of the cabin. What frightened her the most were the scratches on the walls and all the furniture. She attempts to stand up, to try to escape, but fails when feels pain throughout her body, that feels like she's been shot. She looks down and notices that the gash on her leg is bandaged and her arm is in a sling. She also notices that she is no longer in any of her clothes she was in the night before. Instead, she is wearing a cotton night-gown. After a couple attempts she is able to stand up and limps over to a mirror. She gazes into it, horrified with what she sees. Her hair's a mess and there is a scar covering half her face, which is easily shown in her pale skin. Fortunately for her there was a brush on the ground and she was able to tame the beast that was her hair.
All of the sudden she hears the door slam and a big burly man in a flannel shirt and blue jeans appears in the mirror. The woman, being startled by the sound of the door slamming, grabs a pocket knife, that was laying around and pulls it out on him.
"Whoah, Whoah. Calm down, I ain't gonna hurt you. Your a jumpy one aren't you." The burly man says, attempting terribly to calm the young woman down
"No, I'm just a little shaken up that's all." replies the woman, her voice unsteady. " Anyway where am I and how'd I get here."
"I'll tell you if you promise me to you'll put down the knife." says the burly man. The woman puts the knife down on a coffee table and sits down with the man. The woman asks, " So how did I get here?"
"First tell me your name." says the burly man. " My name is Elvira." says the woman. " That's a strange name.", he points out, eyebrow raised. "Well, what's your name?", Elvira asks. " It's Grisly." replies burly man. "Well that's so much better." says Elvira sarcastically. " Anyway, you gonna tell me how I got here?" "Sure, I found you this morning bleeding in the woods during my morning hunting." replied Grisly. " You were still breathing, so I brought you back to my cabin and bandage you up. You were out like a light, so that made my job a little easier. I put you on the couch and took your clothes off to dry them and get you into dry clothes." Hearing this, Elvira gasped. "Don't worry I'm a gentleman. I looked away." Grisly chuckled. "Anyway, that's all that happened before I found you looking in the mirror.". Elvira asked, "I heard gunshots this morning, what was going on." Grisly looked down nervously and said, " I was shooting to scare something off. I didn't want to tell you this ma'am on account of not wanting to frighten you, but we have a wolf problem in this area." " Oh, I know that. How you think I got the gash in my leg." said Elvira "I got attacked by a pack of them last night."
Ma'am, those wolves aren't nothing compared to the wolf I'm talking about." said Grisly. "The wolf I'm talking about is more like a monster than a mere wolf. This creature has fangs that are a foot long each, glowing red eyes, and is about seven feet tall. No one knows what exactly what he is and where he came from but all I know is that he is very dangerous. You should be glad you didn't run into him". Elvira nodded, while thinking about the beast that saved her life the night before. Elvira also notices an amulet around Grisly's neck and feels that she has seen it before, but can't seem to remember where from. " Anyway, don't worry about it. I suggest you stay here for a while though. I doubt you'll be able to be strong enough to survive in the woods alone now." Said Grisly. " Don't worry, it's safer in here than out there." said Grisly deviously grinning.
About three days later, Elvira insisted that she had to return home. She had been lost in the forest for two days before the wolf attack, plus the three days in cabin. Along with that, she had lost the package she was supposed to deliver to a scientist days ago, in the wolf attack. She didn't know what it was, but she did know that it was important scientific breakthrough that would cure him of a disease, that symptoms she was unaware of. All she did know for sure now was that she needed to get home. Grisly had agreed to guide through woods and protect her from wolves and a the monster wolf he had told her about the first day she met him. They began to travel sometime in the afternoon, Grisly insisted that he had to get some chores done before they left. A couple hours later,it became really dark and the moon was starting to rise. Grisly decided that they needed to make camp and continue the rest of the way in the morning. After they set up camp, Grisly started a fire for the night. "Elvira, having you visit me has done me good. I haven't had company in a while. It will be a little lonely after you're gone, but that's life." said Grisly. "Yeah. I'm going to miss you too Grisly. By the way I wanted to ask you something. That amulet with the wolf on it that you wear. What is it for" responds Elvira. Grisly smirks and all the sudden it starts to rain. " Well it represents my spirit animal, the wolf. It also represents my curse." Elvira gasps. "A couple years ago, I was a successful scientist working on how animals DNA can make a person stronger and give them them the factors, that the specific animal has. Well, one day I was experimenting with wolve's DNA and injected it into myself. It made me faster and more powerful, but had a horrible side effect. It turned me in a monster, a "werewolf", for lack of better words." Elvira jumps up and starts to back away. Elvira also remembers where she recalls the amulet from. "You mean that you're the b..b..beast you told me about." Elvira says nervously. "Yes my dear, and now that you know my secret, you can either stay or go. It's your choice." says Grisly. " I th..th..think I better go." says Elvira, as she flees. Grisly says to himself, " She should have stayed." Again, lightning flashes and a another scream rings throughout the forest.
