If Evie had managed to act on her we need to talk line with a twist
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////They walked across the large open field, few students making their way round the ground, books in hand finishing up after a day at school. However those who had entered had not taken part in any lessons that had taken place. Instead they came from the Isle, leaving a very angry blue pirate behind with her crew.
The sun beamed down and the grass shimmered ever so slightly in the light, the stone brickwork of Auradon Prep looking bold and bright as rays hit its surface, casting small shadows on those below.
A certain blue haired princess walked slowly as her two friends seemed to walk in front, Carlos with dude in arm and Jay alongside. Evie didn't care to catch up, her mind was focusing on a certain purple haired fae which stood a few metres behind with a young King. She couldn't not allow her gaze to flicker behind her as she walked, seeing the girl somewhat interacting with Ben and also Jane who stood looking rather concerned with clipboard in hand. She found herself waiting, mind racing with a hazy cloud of thoughts and feelings left unsaid, they ate away at her, had been all day, any moment when action wasn't in place she was left dwelling on the events of the other night, purple striking nerves and igniting somewhat panic. However she managed to gain a composure as she saw the blue eyes of the King meet her own red brown, a look of help, a look that wanted Evie to figure out what he couldn't. The Purple haired fae crossed hers arms in some guarded position but Evie was determined to break it and now with Bens consent she could intertwine her arms through Mals as King Ben retreated back to walk with Jane.
"We need to talk"
To many those words were simple, like wondering what's wrong or knowing details of events, or even ones thoughts on a matter- it was a girl talk thing mainly, gossip on how things were happening, emotional support in some ways.
But to Evie those words held so much meaning, so much desperation and fear.
She needed to express what's been eating away, saying her mind, heck in a few hours it could be too late.
The purple locks merely nodded slowly and as much as Evies heart ached to see Mal looking so upset and troubled she had to speak her mind.
As she took strides she hoped for dear life that Carlos or Jay wouldn't interrupt, usually she wouldn't mind but her sanity seemed like it rested on this, she couldn't have any interruptions anymore. Luckily the boys didn't and Evie could take Mal back to the dorm.
"I don't know" The fae mumbled the worlds, green gaze almost lifeless as it scanned the grass they walked across and Evies heart jolted.
"I have questions, many questions" the princess answered, not daring to look again at the purple girl as she knew a lump would start to form in her throat.A silence brewed again, tense muscles around Evies arms and a sigh that left Mals mouth, one that Evie felt like she needed to let this wait, but everything was leading up to this, she couldn't hold it in anymore she had stewed far too long.
"Heck how can I keep running this this, being a Lady of the Court, I having no fucking clue E, I saved Ben, but I feel still so empty in this" Evie heard the cracks in her voice, a vulnerability very rarely shown and the blue princess pulled the upset girl out of sight and round into one of the small clearings of bushes. It was a particular area that had a small bench, enclosed with bushes and flowers and Evie knew this place could help Mal could hide away a little as she knew how much the girl hated having people see her cracks.
Evie would have had something comforting to say, but with everything building up inside like a fizzling firework she had other things to say.
"Explain to me what happened the other night"
Brown eyes finally turned to meet green, a stern and pleading gaze as green eyes widened ever so slightly, the fae quickly wiping her tears.
"What?"
"I know you're struggling M, you ran away, and yes we saved Ben but there's still so many problems left unsolved, one is the other night" Evie spoke sternly, she didn't know why but with everything whirring in her mind it didn't matter as long as she could speak. The fae shuffled on her feet, moving back slightly and the princess glared for an answer, she needed to know.
"I don't know what you are trying to say" The smaller girl uttered, stuttering slightly, green eyes wide and confusion settling into her features.
"For fucks sake Mal you know something between us happened, don't tell me that what we did was something friends do, because it was not" Evie quipped, a small flame flicking inside as she wasn't wanting to deal with problems, she needed answers before it consumed her.
The purple faes jaw fell open, opening and closing as if to try to form words that wouldn't come out, burning redwood that glared at widened green, bodies still metres apart, something that resembled events of the other night, a thick cloud of anticipation filled the air and the princess clenched teeth as it seemed she wanted to growl, red lips twitching as the silence became deadly.
"Evie I don't-"
But the blue princess wasn't having some halfhearted shrug of of an answer, she wanted to know because her heart felt like it could burst, everything seemed surreal.
"You do, don't you dare lie to me"
"Yes we touched foreheads and confessed things but-"
"Mal we kissed. We fucking kissed, don't play this off"
