Luca sighed, his gaze torn between his mother's favorite wine and his favorite vodka. Do I want mom happy while she's here, he thought running his slim finger over the wine. Or get drunk when she leaves? He hefted the vodka, which looked more appealing every second. Luca shook his head and his bangs swept rakishly over his forehead, and he thought out possible ways of pleasing his mother other than alcohol and sighing again when he came up empty.
He was so lost in thought that he didn't hear the bell above the door announce the arrival of another, nor did he notice the newcomer enter his aisle, eventually leaning on a shelf to watch Lucas.
"Just get both."
Luca looked over and felt heat spread over his collarbone, the closest his body had ever come to blushing. What's with this reaction? He wondered as he instinctively memorized the strangers appearance.
He noticed white-blonde hair first, so pale that he looked at the brows and lashes for confirmation. Then he saw that the eyelashes stood in stark contrast to his dark brown, almost black eyes which were half closed and mesmerizing. Next he was drawn by his stance, which was lazy with a hip cocked out, shoulders back, and arms crossed over his chest. He also noticed the tattoo on his wrist, picking out between leather cords. He definitely didn't miss the deep purple silk button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow, paired with dark blue jeans and shiny Italian shoes.
He doesn't look like a good influence, that's for sure. Luca thought, feeling the corners of his mouth tilt up. "If I could afford it, I certainly would." He told the stranger humorlessly and when the man shrugged Luca noticed just how tall and muscular he was. Intimidating.
The stranger walked past Luca and he noticed a animal-like grace in his measured steps. "If I can afford to," he started, looking into Luca's eyes as he passed. "Then so can you."
Luca knew that this man had heard the double meaning behind his words. He watched the stranger move towards the register, grabbing a bottle of whiskey on his way.

Adrian was feeling good tonight. He felt good every night, but tonight he was excited by this boy. He doesn't seem much younger than me.
Adrian had entered the store to replenish his whiskey supply. He nodded to Bill, the owner and operator of the store, before traveling a familiar route through the shelves and coolers. When he saw the other customer he was transfixed by the warring expressions on his face. Not that he saw much of his face but Adrian decided to wait and see if he could get a better look.
As he was waiting, he noticed a glimmering diamond stud in the boys here and could tell from where he stood that it was authentic. He has money. Adrian thought, eyes roaming over the plain skinny jeans and white t shirt. Or maybe he has friends... He saw a flash of silver at his mouth and noticed he was biting at a lip ring and as he drug a hand through his bed hair, Adrian eyes zeroed in on a silver Rolex with a diamond inlaid face snuggled between a leather studded bracelet and some woven twine.
People tended to shy away from Adrian because of his status and dress, so it wasn't an everyday occurrence when he could just stand and watch someone without them scurrying away.
Adrian noticed the familiar and expression on his face and figured he was struggling to choose between something he wanted but didn't need and something he needed but didn't want. It seemed need was winning when he brushed his hand over a wine bottle with a frown.
Oh wow, such slender fingers for a man. Adrian smirked and leaned on the shelf behind him feeling obligated to help some. "Just get both." The boy looked over and Adrian got the full picture he had been waiting for. His black hair swept over his forehead, just barely reaching a set of angled, forest green eyes positioned perfectly over a strong nose and lush, full lips.
Adrian saw the matching earring sparkling in his other ear before he was distracted by his smile. It wasn't even technically a smile and only just barely reached his eyes.
"If I could afford it I certainly would."
Adrian had already saw that he had access to money so he must have meant he couldn't afford to indulge so he shrugged and moved for his whiskey. "If I can afford it, then so can you."
Thankfully, it was a straight shot to Bill at the counter, who slowly bagged his liquor and rang him up. "Lovely evening Mr. Stonehawk." The old man drawled in his thick southern accent.
"That it is Bill." He replied, glancing to the side at the stranger, who was now reaching for something. Bill noticed the gesture and smiled slyly.
"Something caught your fancy, sir?" He knowingly. Adrian's eyes darted back to his weathered face and Bill chuckled. "'Course, I know of no such thing as to have caught the eye of Adrian Stonehawk, no sirree." Adrian pocketed the receipt and grinned back at the old man, leaning over the counter conspiringly.
"You see that boy over there?" Bill looked over at Lucas and smiled at Adrian calling him a boy, their respective ages considering. He played along anyway, nodding sagely. "If he buys a wine, then he pays for it. If he buys a vodka, I pay for it. He'll buy both though so I'll buy his vodka." He told his old friend before grabbing his whiskey and walking out.

Bill grinned and looked after Adrian. I maybe old, but I'm young enough to do something about that old soul. He laughed at the odd sound of his thoughts, and watch the remaining customer with interest. It took someone real special to catch Adrian's attention.
Bill scratched his stubbly chin. He's attractive... I suppose. If that's all it took though then young Adrian would be married with lots of babies by now. Luca walked over to check out. Well I'll be a hogmonkies uncle.
"I'd like to buy both of these please." He told Bill, grabbing his wallet and pulling out a shiny black card.
"Unfortunately, you can't." Bill shook his head and laughed at his shocked expression. "Young Master Stonehawk has already bought the vodka, its free of charge."
Luca opened and closed his mouth a few times, not understanding anything that was just said. "Umm... what?"
Bill look into the boy's eyes and saw what Adrian had. Loneliness and caution warred under the surface. Bill looked and he laughed. "You must be new around here." He said and reached for his hand when he nodded.
'"My name's Luca."
Bill nodded. "Howdy Luca. I'm Bill and that lad who bought your liquor is Adrian Stonehawk, the youngest self-made, multi-trillionaire in history."
The kid, Luca, stared at him for a minute. "Self-made multi-trillionaire?'' He exclaimed. ''Self-made multi-trillionaire?" Bill wondered is emphasizing the parts separately was helping him any.
"He's a good hearted kid too. Always doing something for someone. Bill told him enjoying the look on his face. "He's a handsome devil, which is good for the ladies, he can cook which is good for his future spouse, and he drinks a lot, which is good for me."
"It must be nice." Luca said and Bill blinked in confusion. "To be a rich man yet not let it all go to your head and ruin you." Bill blinked again and Luca was already at the door, pushing it open and walking out without even so much as a shiver.
Yep. Now Bill saw what Adrian had seen.
