As Jac lay in her bed with Fletch beside her, she had all sorts running through her head of what Fletch might want to talk to her about.
Fletch then held Jac's hand and said softly "Jac....when you were unconscious i said something i never dreamt i would. and part of my wishes you would remember. what i said wa-..." Jac interrupted Fletch mid sentence and said "Fletch don't..."
Fletch looked confused and Jac led there blankly. Fletch stood up and went to leave. Then Jac said "don't leave...i didn't mean it like that"
Fletch turned back with a smile on his face, sat back down and took Jac's hand again.
Jac looked into Fletch's eyes waiting for him to say something. He didn't for a while. Then after a good minute he cleared his throat and went to to say
"as i was saying, i said something i've been wanting to say for ages but would've only like to have said once" they both laughed. "
"but i'll say it again for you. when you were ill, i said that i wanted you to get better because i needed you. i needed you to make my life happier. to make me happier. to make my days count. to give me something to look forward to. and i meant every word. there's not a thing i wouldn't do for you Jac"
Jac said "not a thing?"
"not a thing" Fletch said.
They both smiled and Jac said quietly
"you've been there for me. you've helped me. i mean today you saved my life!! i need you too"
they smiled. Jac said
"Fletch...when i'm better, will you come away with me?"
Fletch looked happily surprised.
"you've just had time off" he said.
Jac then said "i'm sure people will let me have time of, you know as i need to recover. that's what everyone kept telling me last time!" they both laughed.
"where ever you go, i will follow" he said.
Jac smiled "so is that a yes?"
Fletch laughed "of course it's a yes you numpty"
They both smiled at each other and they was that.
