I got the chance to interview one of my favorite writers on Wattpad, Isabellestories (a.k.a. Izzie) and I was amazed at how open she was to talking to me (I always knew she was good to her fans, but I’ve never experienced it firsthand), and I can tell she took the time to answer! She cares so much about us, it’s amazing! Her fan fictions were the reason a lot of us got Wattpad accounts! So I did a long answer question round, where I asked questions more involving Wattpad, then a round of Wattpad Quickfire, where there were short questions about her personally! I hope you enjoy! (:
Round 1:
Q: When you first started on Wattpad, did you ever expect to become as popular as you have?
A: NO WAY!, i never knew that i'd become this well-known on here, i just wanted to post my work. And not many people know this, but when i first posted, i was actually REALLY scared!, it took a couple of self-pep talks just to click 'publish'!
Q: Have you noticed a change in your writing ability because of Wattpad? I know that if you write a lot, you get better in time.
A: Yes yes yes!, i think thats what makes Wattpad brilliant, it really improved my writing.. i used to write Cody Simpson fanfictions (they were REALLY terrible!) and i guess i learnt from that. From Wattpad, i wouldn't be on the path i am now in life.
Q: Do you remember certain commenters or voters? Like, say I commented on more than one of your stories, and I was really nice or something, would you remember me when I commented again? Would you be like: that’s the same person who commented on another story?
A: Some people think that their comments won't be seen on my stories, but i can promise you, with all my heart, that i read EVERY SINGLE ONE!, i don't miss any. And yes, i do recognize certain commenters, because they are so regular and amazing. But what really grabs my attention in a comment is the long ones!, i love reading the long ones!
Q: Do you have any advice for upcoming writers on Wattpad, or anyone who wants to write a fanfiction?
A: I think the fear of posting really gets people stuck sometimes, but you just need to be REALLY confident in your writing, it honestly doesn't matter what other people think, it's all about your self-opinion, if you like it, what does it matter if others don't? But if you want to be technical, i think what really gets my attention in a fanfiction is a creative story line and good grammar!, something thats easy to read and has a solid plan written out. And someone who regularly updates!
I definitely agree with that, and I’ve talked to a few writers, and they all think their works are terrible, when in reality, they’re amazing! People are always more critical of their own writing rather than others… so take a chance! Post your story, and see what happens! Something great can come from it, but unless you post it, you won’t get to see the results!
Round 2: Quickfire
Coke or Pepsi? Coke!
Would you rather go to a 1D meet and greet or concert? Meet and Greet!, so i can get some really cute and funny photos!
So true! My friend went to a meet and greet in Florida (where we both live), and she got a picture and Harry is sneezing in it! It looks so funny! He even makes the sneeze face look good!
TATTP or OTWOD or WHK? Or even your new story, which is amazing? My new story is going to be absolutely awesome, i'd definitely say my new story!
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate!!, not a huge fan of vanilla.
Any pet peeves? People who don't know the difference between 'your' and 'you're'
your- your pet cat. (you own something)
you're- you are beautiful. (is short for YOU ARE)
Dogs or Cats? Cats!
Facebook or Twitter? TWITTER.
Do you have any favorite 1D Video Diary Moments? NO! Jimmy Protested, Mary? SHE'S MINE!, ENERGY JUIIIICEEE, i'd want to be invisiiiiiiiblllleeeeee!!,... THERE ARE SO MANY!!
Do you have any last things you want to say to your fans to wrap it up?
I just want to thank every single one of them, and i'm not just saying that. I absolutely mean it. You've all helped me discover my talent, and you've helped me develop my skills. You've made me realise that writing is something that i want to spend my life doing. I want to make people happy with my writing, You've all been so supportive and wonderful and beautiful, and i just can't thank you enough. You've made my life worth living, and i'm here to support you all through anything.
i'll always be here.
Love, Izzie. :) xx
And there you have it! My interview with Isabellestories! :)
