CHAPTER 1
NIGHTMARE
"Ladies and gentleman! Today we have a special treat for you!"
Erin woke with a start. She was sweating and her flannel pajamas clung to her body. She had been having the same dream since she went to that circus that came into town a couple of weeks ago. It started with her being chained up and locked in a cage. She was wearing a maid outfit and was put in front of cheering people, that wasn't even the strangest part.
When she looked to the side of her she was conjoined to someone with thread. Then the ringmaster would force them to walk onto the platform and he would smile showing a row of shark like teeth. He would say a simple phrase and then the nightmare would end. She ran a hand through her sweaty hair and sung her legs over the side of her bed making the mattress groan. Then she walked into the bathroom and turned on the faucet.
While Erin waited for the hot water to mix with the cold water, she looked for her mothers' sleeping pills. She found them stuffed into a box filled with other medications. She shook the bottle and dry swallowed two of them. Then she walked back to the sink, she got a handful of the warm water and splashed it on her face. With her eyes closed she searched for a towel.
She dried her face then, she felt a sharp pain in her right shoulder and quickly opened her eyes. She glanced at her shoulder and saw blood seeping out, just like in her dream. Erin touched her shoulder and the blood lingered on her fingers. She gasped as she looked at the mirror. She was sewn to someone.
She screamed and fell loosing conscious. Soon her mother came rushing in, she saw the pills and thought the worst...
