I grabbed my school bag and proceeded down the stairs to the kitchen, "Good morning mom, and dad." I said, with a smile on my face. Of course that smile wasn't genuine, why would I be excited to go to my least favourite place on earth; school.
"Good morning honey" my mom and dad replied. I sat down at the kitchen table and waited for my breakfast.
"Are you excited for the first day?" My mom asked. Was she insane? Of course I wasn't.
"Uh, yeah, I guess..."
"You guess?" She raised an eyebrow.
"I guess."
"Okay then," she smiled and placed my plate in front of me.I inhaled the beautiful smell of the maple syrup that soaked my pancakes. I heard my dad ruffle his newspaper and I began to eat.
"Angie's mom messaged me," my mom explained. Angie is my most best friend im the entire universe.
"Yeah, and,"
"Angie will be over around 7:55, you two can walk to school together."
"Okay," I was never an enthusiastic girl when it came to school, and walking to school. After I finished eating, I marched to the bathroom and brushed my hair, and teeth. At this point it was 7:45, I had some time to burn, so I went on my cell phone. I scrolled through Instagram, when I came across a photo that caught my attention. It was a photo that Bethany Andrews had posted. The photo contained her hand on some guys thigh. I clicked the screen, and to my surprise (not really) the person tagged was Logan. My blood boiled with anger, were they dating?
"Em, Angie is here!" My dad exclaimed from the kitchen.
"Coming," I got up, walked to the door, and opened it.
"Hey," Angie said smiling, she looked really nice.
"Hey," I fake smiled.
I stepped outside, said goodbye to my parents and closed the door angrily.
"Woah, are you alright?" Angie asked, she knew me too well.
"No,"
"Why?"
I turned on my phone and showed her the photo. She rolled her eyes, "She is such a gold digger."
"I know right."
Angie and I despised Bethany Andrews, ever since she said we had "cooties" in the second grade. Hating Bethany was one of the many things we had in common."As soon as he blew up, she's all over him. Of course."
"I mean, obviously, we should have saw this coming."
"Agreed."
We walked down side walk. It was a nice day, but not a good day. We arrived at the school, people everywhere. Some guy ran past me and almost body checked me onto the ground trying to catch a dumb football.
"Woah you alright?" The guy asked, and he placed a hand on my shoulder, attempting to steady me.
"Yes, im fine." I explained, "don't worry about it." Then he left. I was relieved. Jocks annoyed me.
"He's cute." Angie exclaimed.
"He's a jock,"
"So is Logan," she raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"Yeah, but thats different."
"Is it really?"
She pointed out Logan who was also goofing around with the football.
I shook my head and smiled in defeat.
"See I'm always right." She added.
"Sure you are."
I watched Logan for a moment, then he looked at me, my heart was beating fast.
"Ooo" Angie whisperd in my ear.
"Shut up!"
He waved and walked this way, I was so nervous.
