As soon as the Earth realm could support life that was bigger than microorganisms, the Gods began to fight over the realms. These Gods fought over the realms because there were two realms unspoken for; the underworld and the Earth's surface. These realms were fair game to anyone and everyone, at least the God's assumed. If Poseidon, the controller of the sea, and Zeus, ruler of Mount Olympus, could have a realm, why couldn't anyone else?
At first the fighting was only verbal until Hades, the brother of Zeus and Poseidon, chose to create an unnatural being called a vampire with Lamia, a vampiric spirit to claim the world back from the humans. These beings were created by Hera, the goddess of family, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom. After all, 'if one brother could have a realm, all of them should' reasoned Hades, the god of death. However, soon after the first being was created, others soon appeared. Dolos, the God of trickery, and Hecate, the goddess of magic, created witches through the enchantment of strong human bloodlines. Eirene, the Goddess of peace, and Ares, the God of violence, brought their powers together to create the elves by blessing the carvings of metamorphic rock that had long been taken by nature.
Soon after the beings inhabited the Earth, devastating wars ruptured from every corner of the earth between certain species, proving that they were incompatible to be living on the Earth. Before these creatures were thought of, the Earth had a perfect balance of dark and light, both sides represented by the sun, Apollo, and the moon, Artemis. Once these creatures appeared, there was too much darkness plaguing the earth, hindering Artemis and Apollo from functioning normally.
After weeks of feeling abnormal, Artemis came to realization of what was happening. After all, she was the goddess who represented nature, the hunt, and the plague. Once the realization dawned on her, she had glared at every being in the Olympian hall before yelling, "You are all plaguing the Earth with your darkness, greed, and selfishness. The earth was never meant for this and I will not stand for, or with, you. You are ruining a crucial balance and I know you will regret it." Then she stormed out of the hall, leaving every one feeling somewhat resentful of their actions.
A week after Artemis stormed out of the hall, Zeus returned to his home with an unsettling feeling after dealing with the Earthly matters of his half sons death. He demanded a meeting with all of the Gods, waiting patiently for an explanation. He waited for everyone to appear, which they did, except for Artemis, his twin daughter, who never skipped these meetings. He waited a few minutes longer, glaring at her seat as if she would magically appear.
"Hello, I am glad that everyone could attend this meeting. But I have a question as to why Artemis had not appeared you, has she gone on a hunt without my knowledge," he asked angrily, eyeing everyone who seemed somewhat guilty. Eyes avoided his, bodies stiffened and shuffled around. His anger slowly escalating.
"WELL? Where is the most consistent, punctual goddess? Isn't it strange she isn't here, Apollo? You should know right," he asked accusingly. He watched as Apollo's face turn red with anger, his body stiffening. Immediately, Zeus realized something was wrong. His happy-go-lucky twin son never got angry that was a quality of his sisters. He waited patiently as everyone's face turned guilty.
"TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON," he suddenly demanded. He watched as Athena cleared her throat and sit up.
"She has gown quite angry with certain Gods who have messed with the balance of Earth, therefore hindering the balance of her and Apollo's relationship. We haven't had the moon since she spoke last, needing wind gods to cover the sky for us," Artemis stated angrily. Her eyes flashing towards Hades.
"What have you done Hades," Zeus asked quietly. His daughter did not have an uncontrollable temper, she practically refused to separate herself from Apollo, her younger brother.
