This is a dream I had after I played paintball for the first time!!
********************************************************
And as I stood up for the winning shot- wait hold on let me back it up to the beginning of the game…
I had never played paintball before. But I did know how to shoot the gun. So when I was standing outside the fence listening to George and Rose’s plan I was totally freaking out and felt like I was going to throw up. That was actually pretty stupid because I had been in wars! I had watched my friends die around me! And no, I have not sneaked into the army. I was a demigod. A daughter of Apollo, the god of music, poetry, and other things I can’t think of right now. My best friend Brooke who is standing right beside me is a daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. Now naturally we had a much better plan than what George and Rose were coming up with but we just listened to their plan and would put ours into action once we got into the arena.
“Into the arena!” The guy running the paintball thing says. I barely had time to look at our opponents before I ducked behind the wall farthest in the back. Time to put the first part of our plan into action. I was to sit behind the wall and not make a sound. I can’t shoot at anyone. Our aim is to make everyone forget I’m here. I watched George take out one of the guys we didn’t know. Now all there was left was the other boy we don’t know and Bill, Rose’s boyfriend. Brooke slid into place beside me. “Do you know what to do?” She whispered. Before I could answer I heard, “And Jackson is out of the game!” I’m guessing Jackson is the other boy I didn’t know. “Who’s left?” I ask. “George and I. George is probably going to get out any second though because he is running around the field like a harpy on steroids.” She laughs quietly. “Its Bill on the other team right?” I ask “Yup. You do know what to do right?” She asks peeking over the wall. Then she lets a ball loose. “Dang it I missed!” She half shouted half whispered. “Yeah I know what to do.” I say. Someone screams and then George is out of the game. “Run for it girl!” I tell Brooke and she is off. What she doesn’t see is Bill rising up from behind his wall. “Br-“ I start to say but then I remember the plan. She just has to take one for the team. And she did. By the time Brooke saw Bill, he had already let loose a stream of paintballs, three of them catching Brooke in the hand face and leg. She goes out limping from the one that hit her leg. “Its time.” I whisper to myself. Bill rises up from behind his wall. “I won!” He screams. “Not quite.” I say as I stood up for the winning shot, letting loose five paintballs all of them hitting their targets for his face. We had won. “We won!” I screamed out loud. George and Rose came running back onto the field. “How did you hit him five times in the exact same spot?” Rose asks excitedly. I smile and shrug. Did I mention Apollo is the god of archery and good aim?
