Hey there!
My name is Rere, short form for Rereloluwa. I am a Yoruba (a nigerian tribe) girl as you can tell from the name 😊. So long story I grew up in Nigeria and had to move to the United states and I'm living with my Aunt. I'll just do a lil throwback story to tell you how it all started.****************
Throwback to 5 years ago when I was in Jss 1. I came back from school a little later that day because I stayed back to gist with my friends that were boarders and of course to talk to Daniel, my crush. Well I didn't actually talk to him I just liked how he'd come to my class with his guys and they'll be doing "notice me"😂😂. I loved the feeling of watching him make a fool of himself just to amuse me. I got home that day, ate lunch, did some of my homework and took my phone to reply my Facebook messages then I heard the door knock, it was 5pm mummy must be back from work, I thought to myself. I dropped My phone And acted like I was doing something else before she will say I'm always on my phone like almost all Nigerian mothers do😥. Just then she called me, I greeted her and collected her bag while I watched her yawn and stretch to ease her stress . Get me a glass of water, she said. Okay ma, I replied. As I brought the water to her I turned to go into the corridor leading to my room so I could go online again I was definitely missing out on some gist, my mom called me back and told me to sit. I could tell that something was about to go down from the way she called my full name. (If you're Nigerian, you'll understand 😜) I was sitting there trying to figure out why she called me back when she dropped her phone and turned to face me with a very serious expression on her face.
And she started by saying, Rereloluwa, your dad and I have thought about this and we're thinking of sending you to the United states to live with your aunt. My jaw dropped, what!!! Mummy which aunty? I replied in an exaggerated manner.
Aunty Kemi of course she replied. Aunty Kemi ke? The strict one? Ah mummy me I don't want to go o besides I'm just 10 years old I need you the most now.Ahan she's not that strict. Don't worry when you get to know her you'll like her. I know you'll need me and I'll always be here for you. I just think it's better to send you there while you're still young so you can adapt easily and you'll be speaking like them with your big big grammar. Abi you don't want to go to America ni? My mom said convincingly.
Oh oh mummy na that's how you'll be whining somebody as if it's that easy😔. It's not as if I don't want to go but it's too early na. I said.
It's you that know o I'm just telling you. Your daddy does not even know I'm telling you. Anyhow sha we're not done discussing about it so we'll see. Mummy replied.Okay, thank you mummy. Shey I can go now. I was eager to get my phone and tell my Bestfriend, Pemi about this.
Ehn you can go just put on the TV for me.
I went back to my room and continued chatting while my mom watched TV and we both waited for my dad to come home.********
This is my first time doing this and I just wanted to give it a try. If you liked it please leave a comment and vote for me.
Thanks 😘
