In the year of our lord Mukhtar, 153, the Lord Leo (also known as the Magician of Blue) was born. Growing up he longed to be (and soon became) a soldier in the king's army during the Arqeth war. After a confrontation with the enemy left his right leg paralyzed, he left the kings service and began visiting small villages, entertaining young children with his incredible magic tricks. Often the children's fathers were- themselves- fighting in the same war which had claimed use of Leo's leg. Women struggled to take care of their children due to scarcity of supplies, so visits from the Magician of Blue were happily anticipated. It was Leo's way of helping his fellow allies, even when his disability was still quite new to him.
Though he was only 32, the children began to call him grandpa, or "gramps", due to his head of pure white hair. Leo didn't mind. In fact, he was said to have liked the title. The magic he performed was certainly a mystery to all who witnessed it. Not at all like the cheap tricks of amateur magicians. The people enjoyed them and always debated upon how they were done. But none could quite guess correctly. Leo grew to a ripe old age and passed at 103. He never married, but adopted the son of his widower friend who died in the war. The boy grew alongside his father, taking care of Leo in his old age. The Magician of Blue had only one secret. And he never told a living soul. His magic was, quite truthfully, real.
