I Never Stood a Chance

Another day, another plot to rule the world. For a change, this time it's one of the more minor villains, appropriately named Bonestealer. Using, you guessed it, reanimated skeletons to do her dirty work and take over. Bonestealer's normally all right, as far as supervillains go. She didn't really do any big-scale stuff. Mostly just petty theft, fully living up to her name. I guess she has just gone a bit megalomaniac and decided to try her hand. She doesn't have a chance though, for I am the mighty...

"Green Bomb!"

What? Who's calling me? Oh right, Bonestealer, I guess I got a bit distracted and lost my focus. I have to focus on the fight that is happening in front of my eyes. Bonestealer has, like, thousands of skeletons animated and marching towards Parliament House to take over. Of course, since they are all fully controlled by Bonestealer, I only need to take her out and the day will be saved.

The issue is, I can't fly and I have to fight through all these skeletons to get to her and while they're flimsy, they also don't stay down. I can throw these green-coloured beams of light that explode when they touch something. The problem with them is that they are drawn from my life force so I can only throw so much before I get so tired that I have to stop before I die. Typically, this isn't an issue though because I have trained a lot and I can do a LOT of damage before I go down.

I aim on throwing my green bombs, hah, at these really annoying skeletons and hitting as many as possible. The best thing to do with them is try to just separate their bones as much as possible because they have to reform before they continue fighting and it takes way too much energy to vaporise them. I am getting closer to Bonestealer though. She is annoyingly tall, no doubt helped by those high heels she always wears, and so is easy to see.

"Green Bomb!"

She is calling me again? You'd think she'd want me to forget about her.

"Does this person seem familiar to you?

It's my sister! She has my sister! How did she find out? I've been so careful to keep my identity secret. How did this happen? I have to save her!

"Green Bomb! If you surrender now, I will release Margaret here, with no harm to her. If you continue to fight, she will join my army and fight you."

I can't let that happen. I have to surrender, but then Bonestealer will take over the world. I can't let that happen.

"I surrender!"

"There now, that wasn't so hard was it?"

She's smirking, she knew what this would happen. I glare mutinously as she walks slowly, casually towards me, with two of her skeletons bringing my sister along. Bonestealer reaches me and Margaret starts to laugh. What? I don't get it. Why is Margaret laughing? Isn't she aware that she is being held captive by a villain?

"I can see the confusion on your face little hero, so allow me to explain. Let me introduce my wonderful partner, Margaret to you."

What? This only makes me even more confused. Margaret is working with Bonestealer? Against me? But we're sisters! I can't help my outburst;

"Margaret! Maggie, you're my sister. The one person I told my secret identity to you and you betrayed me?"

Margaret simply stands there.

"It is simple, dear Elizabeth. When you told Maggie here that you were Green Bomb, she decided to join me and let us work together to rule the world! You were, after all, the only person who ever really stood a chance against me?"

I slump, defeated. There was no chance for me.

"I never stood a chance, did I?"

Bonestealer replies mockingly;

"That's the sad part, you did once."
