   One minute I was walking on a sweltering road back from school, and the next minute I was tripping over jungle vines and ducking under a huge insects.

   "      " I said aghast.

   A girl a little way infront of me turned and beckoned urgently. I knew her, she was in my form at school, and she had been walking infront of me before this had happened. An unheard word left her mouth, unheared because of the deafening rushing noise behind me. I turned. A huge cloud of blackness was galloping wildly through the immense trees, swallowing up the jungle. I screamed.

   I hand grabbed my wrist and tugged. I turned back round to face the girl, the owner of the hand. She had previously sported a head of reddish hair, which was now scooped up into a fluffy, high ponytail, and green emeralds glared out at me from beneathe a heavy fringe. Then we were running.

   "For sun's sake Canopy, you were almost consumed." She was saying. I didn't reply. We dashed over loamy paths, leapt like gazelles over fallen logs, all with a hidden agility and power I didn't know existed. We skidded up a slippery tree trunk I almost slid off, and rolled into a hut perched at the top of a barren tree.

   "I would have let you gone to you own hut, but for some reason you seem incapable of running all of a sudden- what are you doing?"

I sat down on the chair, shaking. What had just happened?
