I get up and see it's still dark out.i walk around and a little while i go back to sleep.
A deep rough growl comes over my ear.i turn over to clear it out.it gets louder so i get up.it's a stray dog.foam comes from the mouth.ears pricked back,tail low.i sit and wait for my death..
I'm in a dark room and i hear words. "Get up." a dark voice say.i open my eyes and closed them again."get up." the voice says again.
I look around and i see him a boy. A face of an angel my mother would've said if she saw this for herself.
"Who are you?" i say while trying to regain my pride.
.He says something but i don't hear a thing just my thoughts rushing in my head. Then i realize something niks gone. I get up and yell for him only to get the boy laughing at me and looking confused. I turn around anger building up inside of me. Who does he think he is. I have a pet for a wolf! He's nothing with his big head to understand.
"Whats funny?" i hissed. He looks at me and says "your one and only". I roll my eyes the break the GAZE. i walk past him and try to find where i'm at. But it's dark i can't see a thing. Maybe nik is better off without me i can't even defend myself from a BOY.
i shake my head and look at he's still smiling like he don't understand. I wish i would've brought more books instead of one. He walks towards me and i tense up. Whatever he's thinking he won't get far i reach for my knife but don't find it at my side. My heart sinks this might be my death. He stops and frown.
"are .. you ok?" he reaches his hand out like he's trying to feel how i feel and stops. "Im nik, you might not believe me but i'm your wolf" and comes closer now where only an arm's length away. "Thats impossible! You can't be.." i slap my face of course he could. Just like other animal human friends.
But why now at this time?
I look down at my feet now i have no wolf just a boy. He walks up to me and lifts my face up. I turn my head and a tear escapes. Great now i probably look like a baby to him.
"Dummy"i murmur. And looks at me and smirk. "Ill rather be dumb and have you here, hear you and talking to you, then smart and not know you." he face goes red and he removes his hand. We might just get along.
"Your red" as i say this i feel a creep of heat coming to my face. I turn my head embarrassed.i which i knew what he was thinking. He keeps looking at me making me feel like i'm his prey."so nik..why did you change into"i point at his new body not wanting to call him a dude."that.." he tilts his head which causes me to laugh.
"I just thought you'd like it" he says rubbing the back of his neck like he made a mistake. I look at him closely saying my words slowly. "I liked my wolf better thank you very much" harsh. I wince hoping i didn't say i meant wrong.
The sun is peeking over the trees now showing he's clearly hurt about what i said. I wait for him to say something back. He opens his mouth and closes it. "I didn't mean.." not knowing what id did mean i close my mouth. Nik turns around and walk into the woods leaving me alone.
I look around confused about what just happen. I sit on a rock looking at the birds. All the colors yellow,pinkish,red,blue and white. Flying in a flock helping each other out, one bird leaves from the rest and goes into the tree. Several more follow, i get up and follow them to the tree. As i peer inside i see 3 different eggs two of the were yellow.
Reaching my hand in something soft but sharp nips my finger. Losing my balance i fall back landing on something hard as i land. Getting up i see i landed on a rock. I check for injuries and go back to see what nipped me.
This time i push myself higher onto the tree. I look in and see a baby bird no color. The bird starts chirping and i put my index to my lips. Gesturing it should be quite the bird stops, tilts it head and chirps louder. The noise is terrible.
Two birds fly down peeking at my head. Waving my head i jump down and go back waiting for nik. The birds follow me peeking harder. A trickle of blood goes down my face. Grabbing a nearby stick i hear nik howl. The birds fly back to their home leaving me panting in shock.
Nik comes out the woods no longer human like but wolf. Blinking a few times i run to him and throw my arms around the cuff of his neck,i feel his tongue on my face licking my blood.and that's when i break, i won't stop crying until we're back in our cave. Exhausted i curl up and try to sleep.
Nik must've seen my discomforted, he crawls over and curls around me. Laying my head on his back i fall asleep.
