The baby watched the new man walk into the nursery, giggling as her mom came tumbling into the room. She was making a lot of noise, but the man ignored her and approached the infant.
"Such a pretty baby. You'll do your job nicely." He said to himself, and picked up the child, wrapping her in a blanket and cradling her as the mother screamed. "Look, Esther, if you don't quiet down, you're going to upset Valencia." The man gestured to the child that was still smiling at the man.
When the mother didn't lower her voice, the man got aggravated. "Her name is Emily!" She cried out, hitting at the man. He placed the baby back in the crib, then turned to the woman. "I warned you." The baby flinched when there was a loud sound, then her mother was quiet.
"Let's go home, Valencia." The man said, picking the infant back up and leaving the house.
