Percy ran out behind Tom and grabbed his arm. Tom didn't stop and Percy started getting drug around the agent base. "Why are you mad? Did I do something? What's your name?"
"You don't need my name," said Tom throwing Percy's hands from off him.
"I should know my partners name!"
"I'm not your fucking partner okay?!" Tom busted through Sargent's door. "Who the fuck is this asshole your boss just dropped on me?!"
The Sargent smiled from behind his desk, his brows going up. "This here Tom is Agent Quick. He was just transferred here from training school." The Sargent kicked his feet up on the desk and smiled, "Where ever you go he goes."
Tom was about to break. "You fucking asshole! Either you give me back the case or I'm dropping him."
Percy twiddled his thumbs and frowned. He knew this Tom guy didn't like him and he felt bad, all he ever wanted to do was fit in. His long blond hair covered his eyes and kept people from seeing his blue eyes. Percy wanted to turn around and leave but he stood and rocked back and forth on his feet.
"Your keeping the partner or you can hand in that pretty little gun off yours." Percy grabbed his holster and almost cried.
"Fine! I'll take the fucking kid! Don't you dare ever threaten to take Lucy away from me again or the unthinkable will happen!" Tom stormed out and Percy opened his mouth but closed it before running out after Tom.
Tom paced around his office, that he was now unpleasantly sharing. "Here's the rules kid. Don't touch my stuff. Don't breathe my air. Don't get yourself killed. Don't talk to me. Listen to my rules. Don't look at me. Don't talk to the people I talk too! Don't ask questions. Are you potty trained? I hope your potty trained....Don't go somewhere without my permission."
Tom grabbed his shades off his desk and put some mags in his back pocket. "Oh yeah I have to drop these papers off at the computer zone. I think I know someone there that can get these checked out." He snatched the directive papers off the desk and headed out.
Percy was right behind him, shuffling.
"Okay. What are we doing after this?"
"You mean what am I doing after this?"
"Well we are partners. I could tell-"
"Fine, plus what did I tell you? Don't go anywhere I don't want you too."
Percy nodded shyly, staying close to Tom. He stayed behind the muscly figure and didn't bump into anyone. Tom was much bigger at muscle mass and build.
Tom walked into the computer zone and saw a door with the name "Dr. Finn" on it in bold silver letters. Finn looked up from her computer and her eyebrows raised. "Agent Storm. I didn't know that you knew I worked here. I didn't know you could find me...not that I didn't want you to find me...not that I didn't not want you to find me." She blushed and slid back, almost falling out her chair. She stood up fast and straightened her skirt.
Tom threw the papers onto her desk. "I need you to put those in and give them back to me. We're about to go so I'll come get them when we're back."
"We're," asked Finn not seeing Percy, who was still behind Tom.
Tom stepped away and Percy looked up shocked. His face was still and he didn't move a muscle, a sweat bead fell. The corner of Finn's mouth went up and she lifted up a hand. "Um high."
Tom looked from Finn to Percy and grunted a little. "Come on Percy." He grabbed his tie and pulled the boy out. Percy stood there with the same look on his face. "Can you not look like that? It disgusts me." Percy smiled a little bit as Tom kept pulling him away.
Once they got out in the garage Tom pulled out his keys and his car beeped, it was a blue mustang with a police light on top of it. "Come on." Tom slid into the car and Percy too. He looked at Tom.
"What is her name?"
"Why would you want to know?"
Percy blushed and shrugged.
"Its Finn. She is part of the computer agents. I met her today. Spilled coffee on me." Tom started up the car and drove out.
"Finn." That was all Percy could say after about 10 minutes of driving. His blond hair had been in his eyes but he could still see her face through it.
Tom arrived at the old bakery and reloaded his gun, looking over at Percy. "Don't mess this up. Don't tell Captain. Don't get yourself killed. You do what I tell you to do."
"Well what are you telling me to do?"
"Stay close." Tom got out the car and put his gun in his holster. Percy slid out and followed next to him. "Don't blow our cover." Tom pushed into the bakery and headed up to the counter. Percy spilt up and started looking around at the different goods. He picked up a footbar and felt on it. The bar was basically a fat bar in the shape of a football and it was crunchy with a marshmallow inside. He loved them as a kid and still did. He picked up a handful of them, them being the size of a dollar coin and went to the register by Tom. The muscle mass looked down at the shrimp and the shrimp put the candies on the counter looking at the hippo with blond hair behind it.
Percy pulled out ten bucks and handed it to the woman, who then stuck out a fat hand and snatched it away. Tom did a small grunt and snicker before turning and leaving out the door. Percy grabbed his candy, stuffing them in his pockets, before running out behind him. "What was the point of coming here Tom?"
"First of all don't call me that. Second of all I had to map out the place....I have a plan."
"A plan? Awesome!"
"So sneak to the back. Get in. Get the information and come back out."
"What do I do?"
"You have the hardest job yet!"
Percy smiled and put his hand on his gun. "Come on tell me."
"You get to wait here in my car and watch over it!" Tom smiled and patted Percy's back, which would probably leave a bruise later.
"Wait what?" Percy's face slunk down in despair and shame.
"Its okay. I believe in you to handle this....kinda. Don't screw this up." Tom ran off behind the building and left Percy standing there by his car, isolated.
Tom snuck up to a camera and dislodged it with his hands from below. The back of the building looked like a dump. It had the bakery smell to it but there was trash bags EVERYWHERE. He wouldn't have been surprised if a person was living under all of it. Sloshing around through the bags he felt something big and furry brush across his legs, giving him a slight rush of adrenaline. He enjoyed the thrill of the rats around him, made him feel something....something that made him excited. Tom kicked and bags out the way, searching for a lever or door, something to break the case in half.
After about 6 minutes of searching around he noticed a search mark in the ground by a trash can leg. Bending down and tracing the grooves he saw a light glow coming from under the can. Tom stood up and pushed the can with little willpower and strength. The green tub of trash moved really easy and didn't even make a sound, besides the sound of the movement of the rats, who didn't like their house being moved. Tom saw a pair of narrow steps going down underground with only two flickering lights on the side of the wall.
Tom took the walk of fame down the steps and noticed a handle bar on the bottom of the can. Squirming his hand model hand into it he slowly moved the can back into its peaceful grooves in the ground.
