They stumbled drunkenly through the vast garden of the Hemmings family’s back yard, with Calum’s hand wrapped around Harley’s waist, holding her up. The can of beer in her hand spolled everywhere as the walked along. Calum watched her, amused, “You have no alcohol tolerance.” Though he was a bit drunk, Harley was worse off than him and couldn’t even stand upright.
It seemed like most people had already gone home. The music had been turned off, cans of beer littered the grass, and most of the lights had been turned off.
There was a sound that rang though the garden and they watched as the sprinklers came up, and started wetting the grass they walked on. As they neared the mansion, Harley tripped on one of the sprinklers and fell backward, trying to catch herself from falling, but instead she pulled Calum down with her.
He fell on top of her, catching himself with hands landing on the wet grass on either side of her head.
Calum grinned, “Ready to cross that line?”
He brought a hand to her face, bushing strands of hair away from her face while she laughed uncontrollably. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
"You know exactly what I'm talking about" he whispered, a cocky smirk forming on his face, and it was then when she remembered the little talk they'd had hours before. Everything was a blur, but she remembered what he had said.
"Are you as drunk as to make things up? You're insane" she tried to laugh it off and push him off of her. However, she wasn't as strong as to move him even a single inch away. She was stubborn enough as to not admit her feelings towards him. But he knew better. He knew what she did to her and how he could effect her.
"Harley, I can feel your heart beating right know and I know for sure that it's not because you're scared" he said, a few inches away from her mouth.
"How are you so sure of that? Michael could come and-"
"Just get over your stubborn shit and kiss me" Calum groaned and finally leaned in, crushing his lips against hers. She was surprised, yes, but she closed her eyes and didn't complain, and he did the same.
It was a disastrous kiss though, since both of them were intoxicated. She brought her hands to his hair, and he cupped her face in his hand, supporting himself with the other not to be so heavy on her. Their teeth clattered with each other's, and their mouths were more opened than necessary, but the feeling that washed through their bodies was overwhelming.
When the moment came, the kiss stopped. They were breathless and they looked at each other in the eyes without saying a word. He hugged her under the damp drops that fell from the sprinklers and she hid her face in the crook of his neck. He smelled like soap, grass, and another fragance that could only be described as Calum's.
"We should go" he murmured. They broke the embrace and he helped her up the ground, but he had to be quick and hold her because she still couldn't keep herself upright. "Come on, I'll take you home" Calum told her and she nodded slowly. They walked down the street towards the Quinn's house and, after struggling with Harley's purse to get her keys out, they got inside and he helped her with clumsy movements to put her pajamas on and get inside the bed. He tucked her in and sat at the edge of the bed.
"Shit, my head hurts so much" she said while rubbing her temple with one hand and Calum laughed.
"I love when you crinckle your nose like that" he said.
"What?"
"What?" he said like it was no big deal.
She stared at him wide eyed. "I don't know, it's weird when you're nice to me."
"I am nice to you, but you keep pushing me."
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to, I just..." She really didn't know what to say, plus she wasn't in any good conditions as to think of something to say. "Get inside the bed, Calum" she babbled with sleepy eyes. She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her, making him fall on top of her again. They both laughed quietly, trying not to wake anyone.
"I can't, babe, I have to go or else your mum is going to kill me" he carressed her cheek and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
"Okay" she agreed with a sigh, eyes closed and a huge yawn forming in her mouth. But she still didn't let go of his neck. "Thanks for a perfect normal teenagers' night."
"Goodnight Harley" he said and pecked her on the temple. He stood up, expecting an answer, but she was far asleep, with a small smile plastered on her face.
