The next morning, I wake up to my alarm and pick up my phone. I turned off the alarm and got out of bed.

Today I had school, which I would much rather skip for many reasons. Oh well. I've got about 6 months left of school and then later I can go off to college.

And maybe meet someone that I will be happy with.

I get in the shower as I think about that boy Connor. I hardly knew him, yet I knew him enough to think I love him.

It's crazy how love works.

I finish showering and get dressed in a dark grey sweater with a black heart on the front, and a pair of skinny jeans. I go to the bathroom and put on some mascara and eyeliner.

"I've made pancakes and eggs. Do you want some?" asked my dad as I entered the kitchen.

"No thanks, I'm just going to stop at Starbucks on the way to school," I respond while getting a glass of water.

"Ok, well I guess that means more for Trevor and I. Trevor, wake up!" my dad called, fixing up two plates.

I looked at my phone and the time displayed 7:17. I hated going to places I hated early, but I had nothing better to do.

"I'm gonna go", I said as I walked to my floral patterned backpack.

"Alright," my dad said back.

I walked out the door and down the driveway. I don't drive, because this town is pretty small, like I said, and our school and Starbucks isn't too far away. I just walk while Trevor, being the lazy and bossy person he is, insists my dad drives him.

I walk down the sidewalk until I reach my happy place.

I walk in the door to Starbucks and up to the desk.

After ordering my usual French vanilla frappe and a biscotti, I go and sit down on a table in the middle of the shop.

I see someone very familiar sitting on a two-person table, in the corner by a window.

It was Connor, with a coffee in his hands. It was a two-person table, but there was no one else in the other spot. He was staring out the window.

I notice he does that a lot. Just stares out in the air.

Before I could think anymore, a girl called my name so I went up and grabbed my drink and biscotti. When I turned around, I look at Connor and see that he had turned his head to face my direction.

When we make eye contact, he smiles and gives a little wave.

I smiled back. I had no clue what to do.

If I went and sat with him, he may think I'm a weird creep.

If I didn't and just sat at my own table, he might think I don't want to see and talk to him and also I secretly really wanted to see and talk to him.

As I stood there, about to make a decision, I feel something crash into my leg with great force, causing me to fall back on a chair and stumbling to the ground, taking the chair, coffee and biscotti with me.

*Connor's POV*

"Elizabeth," a lady called.

Elizabeth, from the counselors office, immediately came into my thoughts.

I looked and saw that it was her. She turned around and saw me, too. I smiled and waved, and she did the same back.

I saw a kid, maybe 9 or 10 years old, running straight towards her, not looking where he was going.

He crashed into her leg which made them both fall.

I got up and jogged towards them.

When I reached her, lying on the ground with coffee all over her sweater and face, she saw me and quickly tried to get up.

I grabbed her hand and helped her up. I picked up the chair and put it back into place, then bent down and helped up the kid. His mom took his hand and just walked out the door.

A lady was already coming with a rag to clean up the mess.

I looked to Elizabeth.

"You okay? That was a hard fall," I say, grabbing some napkins from the nearby table and handing them to her.

She blushed. "I'm more embarrassed than hurt," she said, letting out a soft giggle.

"Accidents happen." I smile and offer, "I'll get you a new drink, what was it?"

"Thank you, that's very nice. I had a French vanilla frappe,"she responded, rubbing some napkins on her sweatshirt. I go up to the desk and order.
