Why didn't I listen

“Becca,” Mom yelled from downstairs as I was barely awake, “you have to go now or you will be even more late than you already are.” I groaned in response as I got up getting ready for The Dungeo- I mean school. Putting on my favourite song “A Thousand Years” as my mom left the house, I blasted the music so I could hear throughout the whole house. Putting on my official Rockwell Hunters crimson hoodie, with my darkened blue jeans and white Adidas, I headed to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I brushed through my black hair and straightened it and put a white bow in my hair. Moving on to makeup, I added mascara and eyeliner to my unusual green eyes. I say unusual because I am Greek. Only 25% of us have green eyes. After applying some concealer under my eyes, I grabbed my keys and left to head on to Rockwell High.

As soon as I pulled up to the front office, Mrs. Gradburry noticed I was late and instantly started to write me a late pass, seeing as I was already almost an hour late. To put things shortly, school starts at 9:00am and I got to school at 9:54am. As I walked to Ms. Caroli’s room, I saw my best friend, Fraencesca at the water fountain. “French!” I whisper yelled through the hallway. “Bex? What are you doing here?” My tiny “natural” redhead friend asks referring to my previous suspension. “My suspension is over. I’m headed to Caroli now, if you want to walk with me?” I asked, approaching her. “No can do. I was just kicked out for laughing when she mispronounced Brittany’s name. Instead she said it just how it sounds”. I walked away from French shaking my head and chuckling before she stopped me. “Oh, Bex? There is a new kid in the class. He is in your seat. Don't start anything with him, he’s dangerous.” “Well French, he must not know who I am then.” If only I had listened.
