"ah finally, lord of the flies, william golding" taehyung whispered to himself as he slips the library book off the shelf and into his bag. as he is about to make a right turn towards the checkout kiosk, he notices a suspicious obstacle in his peripheral vision. he stops.

jungkook's POV

i look down at my watch. 14:50. 10 more minutes to the end of school. 10 more minutes to operation library.

the bell finally rings after what felt like eternities. i grab my bag and dash towards the door, before hearing a familiar voice shout my name from the back of the class. "kook, aren't you having lunch with us?" that's namjoon, a friend of mine. i shake my head vigorously, signifying no, before continuing my sonic sprint to the campus library.

15:10, i arrive at the library. my eyes scan the area, whilst my brain profusely thanks god that this library only has one level. there he is, specimen A. he does stand out. i try to decipher in my head the route he is going to take, and after a while i figure out the fastest route towards the checkout kiosk - two right turns. with a swift motion i grab a random magazine and make a run towards the checkout kiosk. i look down at the magazine and heave a sigh.

'lace and lingerie, march 2018 special edition'. great.

like a leopard waiting for its prey, i creep towards the wall. in around 1 minute he's going to walk past this wall and run into me, and i'm going to stop him. it's going to work all according to plan. jeon jungkook, the einstein of our generation. i silently giggled.

i look down to my watch. 15:15. i poke my head out to try and steal a peek at specimen A. he is a lot nearer than i expected. 3 steps away actually. there he stands, like a tree rooted into the ground; staring straight into my eyes with a look on his face that appeared somewhat 'judge-y'. this plan is cancelled. i slowly inch my head back behind the wall, take a deep breath, mentally give myself a 2 second pep talk before stepping out into the open.
