Glowing in the first rays of dawn, the light of the morning was a pearly white. It awas raining, the rain was warm and felt gentle and peaceful. All the gods in Olympus including, Zeus, Hera, Hephaestus, Cronos, and a couple of other known gods were anxiously waiting for the twins of Aphrodite and Ares to arrive. And then, a light and silent thunder struck and one after the other, two twins were born. Aphrodite breathed in her last breath and then never breathed out again. One year later, Ares died of grief and heartache.
Meadow and Orabelle were the strangest set of twins you could ask for. Both cursed at birth, Meadow was born exactly one minute before Orabelle, she immediately had six new perfections. A minute after, when Orabelle was born. Orabelle immediately had seven new bruises.
As Orabelle walked out of school, head down, hood on, She instantly felt what seemed like, ten million bruises. The judgement, it felt as is her whole life, she was drowning, drowning in disgust, hatred, and judgement. Her whole life, she tried to stay above the bloody, scarred and bruised waters. Never seeming to be able to, all she wanted was a breath of what her sister got every day, love, admiration, and kindness. Meadow looked over at her sister who was walking close to her. Meadow gently elbowed Orabelle and gave her a distinct look that signified "keep your distance." Orabelle silently shuffled away from her sister and then Meadow resumed her coy wave and the twirling of her messy but perfect curles.
Orabelle had short hair, cut into a pixie. Her hair was a natural dark blue that people often had mistaken for black. Her eyes were dark, empty caves. Orabelle always wore the same hoodie and beanie, a light purple beanie that now looked like a purplish gray, and a dark purple hoodie with silver tassels, her steel blue hair covering her face as if to hide the bruises scattered like scorpions on her face, fighting for room.
Meadow had naturally wavy hair that was a golden blond, reaching just below her back. Her eyes were a beautiful blue that sparkled like diamonds. Meadow had every single color of pink in the world, in her closet, She had one inch heels, two inch heels, three inch heels and even five inch heels.
Once Meadow and Orabelle entered their small apartment, wolves started attacking, Meadow threw her purse to the floor.
"What was that?!" Meadow screamed.
"...I..I....I'm sorry.." Orabelle whispered.
"Well, you need to make some friends Orabelle, I can't be your only friend, it gives me a bad reputation." Meadow yelled, and with a flip of her hair she stormed away. Orabelle sat down, gave a deep sigh and started her homework. Orabelle could hear her sisters Beyonce music loudly playing upstairs, Then, Orabelle heard a knock on the door. She quickly put her hood on and ran to her room. "Go to your room! I'll get the door." Meadow said, turning off her music. "Okay... I am." Orabelle barely whispered, not sure if Meadow could even hear her.
Once down stairs, Meadow fluffed her hair and smoothened her shirt. She opened the door and saw a slim woman, holding a clipboard to her chest. The woman had hair black as charcoal, with two or three streaks of white, held back in a small, tight bun on the top of her head. The woman wore a dress suit, with a matching pencil skirt. Her face was long and pale, with a small mole directly above her lips.
"Hello, My name is Dolores Frenkinson." The woman spoke in a sharp and authoritative voice. The woman looked sharply at Meadow as if she could see into her soul, lowering her clipboard, Dolores lifted her eyeglasses to the brim of her nose and and asked "what's your name child?"
Meadow straightened her posture and spoke in a light, delicate voice
"Meadow, Isn't it beautiful?" The woman rolled her eyes and wrote something on her clipboard, that of which Meadow wasn't sure.
