Something New

Dear diary,
Hi, I'm Tessa Whitehawk, sorry I haven't wrote anything lately I guess, I've been to busy. My birthday is today. I don't know how it will go. Hopefully good. Turning 18 is definitely something new. Father says, if I work hard enough I might be the new beta. I know he was joking but it was no joke to me.

I stopped writhing and looked, up at my medium-size room in the pack house. I been in this room since I was one. The walls that surround me we're a light purple and the window on the right lighted up the whole room. I put the small back book down on my brown nightstand Carefully and moved off my bed I knew everyone would be coming down for dinner at anytime now. Before I walked out of the room I gazed, at myself in the mirror. My light green eyes looked at me and my brown hair was wavy at my sides.

I smiled, and continued out the door. The hallway was empty I picked up my pace knowing I was probably late for my own ceremony of 'coming of the age'. I tired walking faster but the black dress was not helping us. I was trying to walk in these evil devices call heels. My father mind linked me."Tessa everyone has arrived please join you're party my dear. I think we all what to know if your mate here." I felt my cheeks turn pink. He was right we have waited to join a other pack for some time after my mother was attacked my father said the pack from which my mate I'd in will join us. As Princess of the River lake pack this was a day where I was supposed to meet my other half a day were I met my soul mate. By the time I was out of thought I was down stairs walking out the doors of the pack house. All the scents from other packs hitting me at once my wolf Iris growled, I hushed her. I put my head high up some faces smiled others curious looks some other and a lot of other I've never seen. Everyone was listening to music and eating. I hear someone scream, my name. I looked up to see my best friend there running at me with her black silk hair jumping as she ran. I bow to the luna and alpha of Night smokes and walked away towards Maddy. " Oh, my god!" She screeched, in my ears. "What the hell is going on with you! You've might have killed my ears! I yelled back. She grabbed, my arm. "Look over there!" She pointed to a male with brown hair and fair skin. His eyes looked at Maddy, with a loving smile. It then clicked, she found her mate.

I jumped into her and hug her tight while yelling into her shoulder. "You've found you mate! I'm so happy for you." I backed away Maddy and me were friends for as long as I can remember, she was my there for my whole life. We where almost crying I held her hands. " I'm happy you've found someone, you deserve it." I let go of her hands and wiped at my eyes so I wouldn't cry. It after all was a sing of weakness. She smiled and nodded at me, I shooed, her away. She went back to her mate and his friends. I knew that she would most likely move to his pack. 'Okay, stop. Please we're supposed to be finding our mate!' My wolf purred,with happiness.

The night was getting closer to midnight. The time the party ended. I felt sick this was every pack in the state! My wolf curled in a ball scared, she let out a soft cries. She never done this before it was only her helping, or comforting me. ' Iris, get a hold of yourself it's only 11:34 we still have time.' I was determined, we still had time. Everyone was looking around wondering why I wasn't announced, a mate yet. Well I was wondering the same thing.

My father approached me disappointment was written all over his face that and sadness. "The party is ending honey, I think it's time to go in and clean up. He spoke to me like a wounded animal. I nodded, all other packs saying goodbye not to dare talk about me with no mate. I only felt numb and I couldn't feel my wolf within me anymore. The up the stairs felt like a dream I wasn't here. I was dreaming. A nightmare. I undress put on pajamas and fell into a sleepless night.

The next day was quite, everyone in the house must be asleep. After all there was a big party. To be honest I've never really wanted a mate, but knowing the moon goddess doesn't have a pair for me. It makes me feel wrong. The room felt more cool then I usual. I pushed myself more into the bed and thought for awhile some more days went like this. Until, my father came in. " Tessa, this is enough. You've hadn't eaten in days! And the pack is worried for you! I'm worried for you.." His face soften. I looked at him a little shocked he just came in and yelled at me. I nodded, understanding. He nodded and slam the door. I jumped at the sound and got up feeling the dizzy fell over my body. I fell back into the bed with my hands covering me face. "Uhhhhhhgggggggh," I growled out. And got up again this time not falling. My dad was right my body was weak I hadn't eat enough. Making my way back to the bathroom in my room. I took a shower, the hot water washing over me. Cleaning the feeling of sorrow.

I got out and dried off. Put on a black v-neck and jeans. My wet hair staring to curl around my face. I walked out and sat on my bed the bed going a little under my weight. I put some shoes with stars on them. Yeah, I know kinda of kid thing. I walked out closing the door behind me. I looked up it seemed normal everyone walking and doing there busy around the pack. I walked down the stairs my legs still a little weak. I walked into the living room where Eren and Liz were sitting on the jet black couch. They both looked at me with shocked faces. Then smiled at me. I didn't know how to react to that so I just smiled back to them. I knew them since I was born, I mean this pack only has 300 shifters. So, you get to know everyone. I wished Maddy was here with me but she was with her mate. I suddenly felt a peg of pain hit my heart making me fall back a little. I thank god Eren and Liz acted like they saw nothing. I walked out not wanting to not stay in a room with that much attention in it. Oh! I almost forgot! I was getting food! I smiled a little. What was a girl without her pizza? I'm i right?

As I put my dirty plate away in the sink. I tuned around to see my father I froze a little then got my senses back. But deep down the away my father was looking at me with with blond hair and green eyes. I know something was wrong.

"Tessa, we need to talk about something. It concerns you're mate." He said, softly trying to not make me upset.
I nodded my best to make it look like nothing was wrong.
" Since you hadn't found you're mate I think it's time-" he checked my face as if pleaded for me to understand and I did. My blood ran cold and wolf felt pain and agony. I cringed, because my father wanted me to actually mate someone else.
