The sky cried as all the black limo's made their way to the grave site. My coworker and I drove in and parked with the rest of the non-black cars. I watched as the family of the deceased made their way out of the limo. All expensive black painted on them, black mascara tears, half their face covered by their gigantic black hats. It honestly was depressing. A good man had died. There was nothing more to say.

'Emma, are you listening?'

'Hmm?'

'Take this umbrella. Hurry, you're drenched. We are assigned to sit in that row. Lets go.'

That was my coworker Fanny. Such a funny name she had. She was the secretary director for HR and I was regional director. We worked alongside each other for the past four years now.

'Emmaline please stop zoning out!' she shout whispered.

'Sorry'

We sat at our appointed seats and the funeral ceremony shortly began. Lots of weeping and sniffing filled the air and it became harder to breathe as the time went by.

'Roger Carraway is a name all of America will remember' the guy said. 'And he shall not be forgotten-'

I zoned out. It seems I've been doing this a lot. Roger Carraway. He was a good man. He got me this job, he saw my importance. But now, he was gone. Now there was no one left to appreciate my significance. I surely would remember him. Hell, who wouldn't?

'And now some words from the family'

His wife walks up, sniffing and stuffing her handkerchief in her nose.

'Oh Roger, I loved him with all my heart-'

Lies!

'He was the sweetest man and I cared for him so deeply-'

Lies!

'Oh how I wish he was still here-'

How you wish all his money was still here!

'He was the love of my life'

Yet again, lies!

'And how-' and then she rambles on and on about how she loved him. Truth is, she cheated on him numerous times. Poor guy was so depressed but he was supportive and never confronted her. He was the perfect husband and she mistreated him. Stupid bitch.

'And now a few words from his long gone son' she said in a bitchy way.

Long gone son? He had a son? Roger only talked about his wife, never mentioned a son.

A tall figure, wearing an expensive black suit steps out from behind the trees and comes over to the grave site. One look at him and I was mesmerized. He was gorgeous. Smoking hot. Not many words could describe how he looked. He stepped near Roger's grave and looked at the audience.

'I want to wish my father a blessed funeral' he says. He seems clearly disinterested in talking in front of everybody. 'And I wish I could've told him how happy I am of him.'

And then he abruptly turns around and leaves the scene.

'Who was that?' Fanny asked from beside me, clearly interested.

'Looks like he's Roger's son and stop drooling over him. You're married' I pointed out, shaking my head.

'I still get to drool over hot guys' she said, turning away from me. 'Anyway, the ceremony is over. Its about to start raining again. We should get going.'

We got up and rushed to the car.

'Where's the reception being held?' she asked, starting the engine.
