Chapter Six

ACES POV

I stare at Harper watching her process the words that slipped from my mouth. I don't expect her to feel what I am feeling right now but what I don't understand is why her eyes are tearing up. I know she feels the mate bond some part of her has to be happy about me right? She looks away from me biting her lip trying to hold back her tears. I know I've turned this into a game to piss off Heidi for going against my authority but my wolf has me feeling and saying all kinds of shit.

I growl "If you're going to cry Harper then go ahead and cry, don't turn away from me" I plead her

she drops her legs from my waist and puts her tiny hands against my chest pushing against me "Please I need to get to class" she whispers her voice husky

I let her down on her feet, but not ready to let her go just yet. My wolf is clawing at me from the inside we've upset our mate he whines don't let her go to class make her happy

"Kitten" I caress her cheek and watch the single tear flow down it hitting my finger "please look at me"

she turns her head reluctantly and looks up at me her eyes a darker blue like a storm is swarming inside them she hiccups I smile because it's the cutest thing ever

"It's okay if you don't feel the same way" I say softly tracing her bottom lip with my thumb as it's sticking out in a pout "I don't expect you too it's only been two days.."

she sniffs and smiles "I know" she giggles wiggling her eyebrows her mood shifting instantly how can she do that so easily?

I laugh I know she's changing the subject we'll discuss this in private later on, when we don't have all of these wolf ears hanging around us. I pull her to me loving the feeling of that electric current go through me trying to pull me closer to her everytime we touch. She wraps her pretty little arms around my waist and sighs. I lean my head on hers breathing in that honey and rose scent. I kiss the top of her head and pull away taking her hand in mine.

"Is Summer and her little friends in your class?"

she nods "they're in all of them except second, fourth and fifth."

"then it looks like I'm coming into class with you"

she giggles "but don't you have your own classes to go to?"

"I'm going to be alpha soon I don't have to go to class"

"but how are you ever going to learn how to run businesses if you don't go to school?"

I frown she has a point we do run all of the businesses in our territory "Well it's a good thing I have a genius of a mate like you." I smile down at her as we reach her third bell door the second time today

I look around and make sure we won't be interrupted again. The coast is clear--that is until I see Jax walking up to us with a smirk

"Ace! Blondie!" he yells as he gives us a wave

"Jax!" Harper squeals and lets go of my hand running over to him and hugs him I growl that's my mate! can't he go find his own?

I walk over to them and grab harper pulling her behind me "What do you want?" I growl at Jax

he holds up his hands "Chill bro, Alpha Simon needs you to train some newbies. I'm your replacement for Harper" he smiles over at her and gives her a little wave and a wink

I step closer to him snarling "Fine, but if you put any kind of moves on her or let her get hurt emotionally or physically it'll be your head" I glare at him using my alpha authority
