Shelby's POV:
"Shelby, you're gonna be late for school!" My mom yelled. It was my first day of sophomore year at a new school.
I looked at myself in the mirror one last time. I was wearing a cream sweater, my light blue jean shorts, and my white converse. I had curled my brown hair and applied a little bit of makeup, just BB cream and mascara. Once I was sure I looked the best I could, I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.
I grabbed my keys and got into the car. Now that I have some time, I guess I should tell you about myself. My name is Shelby, I'm 17 years old. I'm about 5'4, yeah I know I'm pretty short. I have long brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. My eyes and hair are really the only things I like about myself. I weigh 94 pounds. I use to play softball, but since I moved I will probably never play again. I suffer from anxiety and depression. My depression started about two years ago, when my dad left us and I started getting bullied. That's pretty much it. I'm not a very exciting person.
Once I got to the school, I took a deep breath before I got out of the car. As I walked to the front entrance of the school it seemed like everyone was staring at me. I started shaking do to my anxiety. "It's okay Shelby, they're only looking at you because you're the new girl. You'll be fine." I thought to myself.
I walked into the building and went straight the main office to get my schedule. Once I got my schedule, I walked out of the office trying to find the room where my first block was.
"Hi, you must be the new girl, Shelby?" A girl said. I looked up and was greeted by a gorgeous girl with blonde hair. It was straight and went down to her lower back. She was wearing a blue dress that showed off her curves perfectly and heels that made her legs look really tan.
"That's me" I said.
"My names Chelsea" she said and reached her hand out. I shook it. "Do you need any help finding your classes?"
"Umm do you know where Mr. Prescott's room is?" I asked.
"Yes, I have him for first block, too" she said with a smile and started walking down the hall. I followed behind her. Once we got there I thanked her and went straight to the back of the room. I wanted to be as far away as I could from people. And barely anyone was sitting in the back.
Soon a man walked in the room, who I assumed was Mr. Prescott.
"Good Morning everyone. We have a new student" said Mr. Prescott and everyone turned and looked at me. I kind of just waved and looked down awkwardly. I hated being the center of attention. "Her name is Shelby."
I heard a few guys say "she's hot" and I'm pretty sure a girl said I'm a slut. It didn't really bother me because I know I'm not and I've heard worse.
"Everyone open up your textbooks and do problems 1-20 on page 204" said Mr. Prescott. I got started on my work immediately.
*lunchtime*
So far today hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be. Me and Chelsea ended up having our first 3 blocks together. The rest of her classes are on the complete opposite side of the building of mine so I'll probably end up getting lost.
I got into the line with Chelsea. I wasn't really hungry so I just got some water. I followed Chelsea to her table and sat down.
"Shelby, these are my friends Mahogany, Alyssa, Tiffany, and Laura." Said Chelsea. Mahogany had curly red hair. She was wearing cat ears, a Mickey Mouse shirt, black leggings, and black heeled boots. She had red lipstick and winged eyeliner on. She was gorgeous.
Alyssa was wearing a plain black crop top, high waisted shorts, and white vans. Her brown hair was in a side fishtail braid. Tiffany had on a gorgeous red dress that showed off her curves and matching heels. Her blonde hair was curled perfectly. Lastly, Laura was wearing a sky blue dress that complimented her and matching heels. Her brown hair was straight and went down to about her lower back. It was a bit longer than Chelsea's though.
"Hi, I'm Shelby." I said to the four girls.
I looked up and I saw a group of boys walk in the cafeteria. They were all hot, but the hottest was the one who looked to be the leader of the group. He was wearing a muscle tee, skinny jeans, and black vans. He also had on a yellow bandana. His hair looked so soft. He looked over and me and smirked, knowing that I was checking him out.
"Chelsea, who are those guys?" I asked, watching them as they walked to their table.
"The one in the bandana is Taylor Caniff, he's like the leader of the group. Next to him is Nash Grier. Then Cameron Dallas, Matthew Espinosa, Jack Johnson, Jack Gilinsky, Aaron Carpenter, Carter Reynolds, and Shawn Mendes." She said. I was still staring at them and I guess she noticed. "If I were you, I'd stay away from them."
"Why?" I asked.
"They're dangerous, and most of them are assholes."
I nodded and drank the rest of my water.
*After School*
After school I walked to my car. I plugged my phone in and started playing music and singing along until I got home. As soon as I walked in the door, there was my mom wanting to know every thing that happened.
"How was school, honey?" Asked my mom.
"It was good." I answered.
"Did you make any friends?"
"Mhm" I said just wanting to go upstairs and take a shower.
"Well, what are their names?"
"Chelsea, Mahogany, Alyssa, Tiffany, and Laura. Can I go take a shower now?"
"Go ahead sweetie. Dinner will be ready soon. We're having guests over so make sure you dress nice."
"Who could you have possibly invited over? We've only lived here for like a week." I asked confused.
"The neighbors."
"Okay" and with that I walked upstairs to take a shower.
