Patrick was standing in the kitchen waiting for his pizza to heat up. He got there the night before with unfortunate news about Ms. Jadotte. The search led him to her family but only to find out that she had died two years ago. Yet another dead end.
He did give Lotus an eye exam that morning
"I'll bring you your glasses when I come back next week." He was a chubby red headed guy with big green eyes and a well-trimmed beard that almost completely covered his lips. He was always happy and would hum whenever he was concentrated on something; just like that pizza he was waiting for.
"You know, I'm really happy Felix rescued you."
He made her sound like a stray animal.
"I am too." She said smiling.
They were alone since Felix was outside enjoying a swim.
"Well, I've always worried about him being alone in this isolated place. I can't come here as often as I'd like to. Anyway, I think you guys are good for each other. You might as well be together while you're at it too. You two deserve some love and compassion."
If only he knew how much hearing this meant to her.
