Silence

The cries don't stop

Twenty-four hours of tears a day

The screams are constant

They never fade

The smell of death

Lingers in the air

Although I wish

For silence

I hope it never comes

For if it does

I know it's my turn to make the noise.

I wrote this after reading 'The Cage' by Ruth Minsky-Sender. (a book written by a Holocaust survivor) It's a great book that I recommend if you haven't read it. Feel free to check out my other works. ~VioletRoses798
