Love is full of doubt. For some reason us as human beings can't fully put our trust in one another, especially in relationships. So was the case with this couple. Eris might have agreed to run, but she doubted her lover.
Eris arrived home contemplating about the decision she made. She wondered why she would leave her loving family for him. Did she love him enough to give up everything. College, a job, her family. Storms of doubt flooded her mind.
She entered her home, a light brown two story building with a pathway of lights leading from the side walk to her front door. She rang the door bell. The sound of foot steps got louder as. her brother runs to the door to open it.
A young seven year old boy named andrew, whom which is Eris' brother, opens the door.
"Were you out with your boyfriend again" Andrew lets out a giggle.
"Yeah, what's it to you" Eris says
"Oh nothing, by the way mom wants to see you"
Eris let's out a sigh then enters the house. She dropped her leather bag then heads upstairs to her Mom.
Eris already knows that this is going to be a long leture.
Eris enters her parents room to find her mom applying the new face mask she got last week while watching CNN on her flat screen TV. Eris' mom turns to her.
" you shouldn't stay out this long with Maxwell all the time"
"Sorry we lost track of time"
"It's ok, I just don't want any thing to happen to you" Eris' mom walks up to Eris.
"Look, I know you want to spend every moment you can with him but I don't want you getting hurt. We're moving soon and you need to understand."
"I understand"
Eris' mother decides to change the depressing atmosphere with a new topic.
"So did you go to the apple tree again. You know me and your father used to go there everyday when we were younger. It's the place we'd go to get to know each other a little better, if you know what I mean"
"Ew, stop it. I really don't want to know about your rendezvous with dad." They both let out a laugh.
" speaking of which where is he"
"Your dad had to work late. He isn't coming 'till midnight"
On the TV a news reporter reports the story of the huge storm hitting the city.
Eris gets a chilling feeling running down her spine.
"OK then mom I'll be heading to bed, goodnight"
"you sure you don't want dinner"
"No, I'm good."
"Goodnight then"
"Goodnight"
Eris went to her room which was placed in between her brother and her parents room. She locked the door behind her then plummets face first onto her bed.
Her room was filled with stuffed animals and band posters. On her desk was a laptop and a picture from when Eris' and Max's family went to the beach.
One thought continually through Eris's brain. Do I really want to run, do I love him enough. Why, what do I do.
Who knows why love is full of doubt. Maybe, in this case, if she listened to her gut absolutely none of this would have to happen
