Ed? You okay?

Roy wasn't sure what to think of this experience.

Taking another sip from his wine he stared out the window of his office with a blank expression. He racked his brain trying to find a reason fullmetal would do this. What she said...actually he kind of liked it. Well he thinks she said it on accident because of her flustered expression afterwards. A smile graced his lips. Honestly he didn't really care if it was an accident or not because it showed him what Edalin really thought of him. That she really cared no matter how much she denied it.

If possible his smile got even widerat the memory of her words. The memory was still fresh in his mind. He was having a drink with Maes from his private stash of alcohol in his office which only he and Maes knew about. Well he was pretty sure Riza knew about it but she's never said anything.

****Flashback****

He reached into the bottom drawer and pulled out one of the bottles of red wine. Maes chuckled behind him. "Do you really need to hide alcohol in your office." He threw his arms out dramatically. "We are at work for heaven's sake!!" Roy shrugged and poured himself and Maes each a glass. Maes shook his head but grabbed a glass anyway. Just as Maes brought the glass to his lip a soft knock sounded from the door. Roy straightened his back.

"Come in."

To their great surprise Fullmetal walked through the door. Judging by Maes's expression he wasn't expecting ed. Roy wasn't either because she never knocked. She usually kicked the door in with some insult directed toward him. She walked up to his desk and placed her report from her latest mission on it. She stood there with a straight back as he reached slowly for her report. Maes looked worridly from him to Edalin.

"Your report is good Fullmetal."

"Thank you." She replied with no emotion.

Okay now he knew something is wrong. She stood there stoically and didn't shift her eyes from where she decided to hold her gaze. "Fullmetal I know you probably don't think I care but are you alri-?"

"Can I go please?" She interrupted. Shocked he held her gaze and saw a pleading look on her eyes. He sighed. "No I want to know if anything is wrong." Her jaw tightened as if...as if she was trying not to cry. He was pretty sure at the moment his look of shock looked really stupid. He quickly composed himself and placed to Maes. Maes held the same look of shock. "Maes can you..?" He nodded. "Ya Roy I'm gone." Maes walked out of the door leaving Roy and Ed alone

"Edal-" "Am I a nuisance to you Roy?" She interuped. He gained a bewildered expression. Did he hear that right? "E-excuse me?" She sighed. "Am I a nuisance to you or anyone else in this division?" He blinked twice in rapid session. "What? No of course not." Her expression relaxed slightly. "You sure?" He nodded. She sighed and put a hand over her chest. "Thank god." His lips tightened. Where had she gotten that idea? "Ed. Who told you that?" She froze. "W-what?" "Fullmetal I asked who told you that."

Sorry to end it here guys I just really wanted to get chapter 1 out. The next chapter will be so much longer I promise you. I've got finals coming up do wish me luck. I will update a lot more once summer comes.
