Grace's POV

Age 17-

"Ready to go?" Clover asks me.  I finish putting on my sandals and jump up from my crouched position.

"I'm ready," I tell her, walking over to grab her hand.  I walk out of my room, grabbing my coat on the way out and swing it over my shoulder.

"Race you to the border!" She pipes, bounding down the stairs -all seven floors of them-.

"I'll see you at the finish line!" I call out to her, cupping my hands around my mouth. I let her get a head start and take my time walking to the elevator, whistling a random song.  I click the elevator button as it instantly opens for me.  I proceed to walk through and click the ground level button.  I continue down the floors and abruptly stops at level three.  Adrian stands awaiting outside the elevator and scoffs upon seeing me.

"I'll just take the next elevator," he says, tapping his foot on the ground.  I glance down at his tapping foot and just smile.

"I don't mind.  I see you are in a rush and don't worry I won't bite... For now," I said whispering the last part.  He just rolls his eyes and enters the elevator.  "What floor?"

"Seven," he says.  I push the seventh floor and the elevator continues down to ground level.  I tap my own foot and take a glance at my brown, leather watch.

The elevator bell rings and the doors open as I race out of the pack house as fast as a trained werewolf in human form can, making sure that nobody notices anything unusual about me.  Once I reach the tree line and I'm out of sight from everyone, I start sprinting as fast as I possibly can, jumping over logs on the way.  I see a jogging Clover in the distance and knowing that she hasn't won any of our races so far, I let her get there first and instead climb into the trees.  Knowing our "finish line" she bends down, placing her hands on her thighs to regain some of her breath.  I climb down from my spot, making sure that I'm silent and run up behind her.  Instead of spooking her, I take my hands and tickle her sides, making her scream at first before bursting out in a fit of giggles and dropping to the ground.  She fell back on her back in a way that allows me to hover over her face.

"Beg for mercy," I say dead serious with a hint of silliness backing it up.

"Never!" She yells, reaching her arms up and tickling me too.  I laugh hysterically before grabbing both her wrists gently with my own hands and placing them above her head.  I lean down and give her a big kiss atop her lips.  She responds back to me by moving her own lips against mine.  I pull away from her slightly and start laughing again and how childish we are.  I maneuver my body so that I'm laying down opposite to her, with our eyes lining up with each other.  "I love you," Clover murmurs.

"What was that?" I ask, cupping one of my hands around my ears.

"Huh? I don't know what you're talking about," She says, smiling with her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.

"Are you sure?" I question her, turning on my side and raising my arm in a way motioning to her that I was going to tickle her if she didn't respond.

"You wouldn't dare..."

"Oh, Hun... You underestimate me," I reply, darting my hand to tickle her stomach again.  She starts giggling and jolting around.

"I-I Lo-ove y-you," She says in-between giggles.

"That's what I thought you said." She laughs at me once more before we notice that the sun is setting. I race behind a tree and Clover does the same in a different tree.

I strip off all of my clothing and shift into my white wolf.  It's been quite a while since I've shifted and my bones cracked more than they used to.  I roll my shoulders back and walk out from behind the tree.  I sit down and tilt my head to scratch behind my ear. In that moment Clover walks out from behind her tree in her light gray wolf.  I tilt my head and give her a big, grin.  She does the same motion I did and then notions us in the direction that we're running.
