"Don't open that until you get home." You told Grayson handing him the rolled up piece of paper.

Grayson chuckles, "promises me Grayson?" You ask him again. He nods "I promise. Cross my heart." He says making an X on his his chest where his heart is.

You wanted to tell him, you really did. You just didn't have to guts to tell him. I mean how can you tell someone well the love of your life that your dying? Like oh hey I'm dying and I just wanted to let you know that.

Like no, maybe some people out there in the world have the guts to tell the person they love that they're dying. But I just don't.

--------------------------------

Grayson was walking home with his friends laughing when all of a sudden he remembered the note you gave him. He ran home as fast as he could not even caring about his friends.

Grayson ran into the house an up the stairs to his room. He sits on his bed and grabs the piece of paper unrolling it.

Dear Grayson,
the love of my life, and my best friend. I gave you this letter for a reason, a reason I couldn't tell you in person. As I'm writing this right now, I see your smile in my mind one that could take away anyone's pain. All the memories that we shared I will forever be grateful to have shared them with you. Okay maybe I should stop stalling and actually tell you what I really wanted to tell you before it's too late. Grayson I'm dying, and before you get up off of your bed and rush to my house I won't be there, I'll be at the hospital laying in bed thinking of the moments we've had. Or maybe I'll even see God. I'll be watching over you, I love you!

Grayson didn't know he was crying until the tears start to hit the paper like rain drops. Grayson got off of his bed, out of the house and into his car. He raced to the hospital. Cursing out every person as they looked at him the wrong way.

Grayson hopped out of his car and ran into the hospital straight to the front desk. "Can I help you sir?" The woman 'Stacy' asks.

"What room is my girlfriend in? Her name is Y/N L/N."

"Sir visiting hours are over." The woman says politely.

Grayson doesn't care and he runs all over the hospital until he finds your room. Your room door is wide open.

"Babe?" Grayson calls out as he walks further into the room. He walks where the curtain is slightly pulled and he pulls it back showing your body lying there.

The monitor is slightly beeping. Showing your heart rate going slower by each passing minute.

You hear Grayson's voice and open your eyes squinting because of the light that is above your head.

"Grayson?" You croak out your voice week and fragile from coughing.

"It's me baby. I'm here." He grabs your hand and holds it in his as tears slide down his face making his eyes swell up and become puffy.

"Didn't you read my letter?" You ask him coughing in the process.

"I did but I needed to see you. I love you, too much to not at least have a good bye." He says crying even more. He saw how sick you looked the dark circles around your eyes making them look sunken in.

"I don't have much time Grayson." You cry as a few tears come out of your eyes sliding onto your ears.

Grayson reaches his hand up wiping the tear away with the pad of his thumb.

"Do you see that?" You point at the ceiling.

Grayson shaking his head no "see what?" He looks up at where you're pointing but all he sees is a ceiling with squares on them.

"That bright light! It's so beautiful! I could stare at it forever. Oh my god I see my grandma and mom, they're smiling at me." You exclaim as the smile never leaving your face.

You look back over at Grayson one last time before saying "I love you Grayson. Remember I'm always right there." you point at his heart before closing your eyes and going to sleep.

The monitors start beeping like crazy as Grayson sits there with warm fresh tears pouring out of his eyes like a water fall.

Nurses and doctors rush into the room and shove Grayson out shutting the door.

Present day; The memorial

"We all knew her as the sweet and loving best friend, student, niece, and daughter. As one of her best friends I can say she was always kind to people she was willing to help anyone, the homeless, old people, children. Anyone really." One of your best friend say.

Grayson walks up to the stand after hugging your best friend.

Grayson takes a breath before speaking. "She was a great person who added so much to every life she touched. The first time I met her was when she was getting coffee and we bumped into each other spilling coffee everywhere staining my favorite white shirt that soon ended up being her favorite, my favorite memory's of her are when she would never stop smiling to be honest I didn't care for the reason of why she was smiling all I cared about is that she always wore the brightest smile ever. She once told me that if you look up to the stars and she's not there beside me she's somewhere else looking at the same stars at the same time smiling. I love you Y/N fly high my angel." Grayson finishes his sentence blowing a kiss up to the sky.

-------------------------------

Grayson had a hard time coping with your death for a while but he learned to accept it and know that you were watching over him. He kept a bunch of stuff of yours but soon boxed it up and put it at the top of his closet.

Grayson did find a girl, she was the sweetest kind hearted girl ever. She actually made him happy. He thought he would never find true love again until he found her. Five years had passed, they got married and had a son.

A/N: okay I'm sorry this was a really sad one but I liked it 🙂 sorry if you cried 😭
