Love Lies

It was 4 minutes past midnight, New York's spring air was muggy. Her emerald eyes appeared more intimidating due to the moonlight. They watched the melanin beauty sitting beside her with curiosity.

Neither of them had spoken to one another since that unfortunate day. The day Lauren felt as if the very person she had allowed into her heart had crushed it with their bare hands. It was also the day she witnessed the unexpected. From the woman that promised her so much but fulfilled so little; Normani Kordei.

She had seen her ex-girlfriend earlier that night inside Zayn's house. The party was in full swing and the house reeked of drugs. Their eyes met across the room, almost as if Normani sensed her enter. After almost three months, it still caused her an immense amount of pain to see her face. Lauren avoided her for the rest of the night without the use of drugs and only a few sips of Hennessy. Normani, however, did the complete opposite. Either way their paths didn't officially cross until Lauren found herself in a situation that she did not want to be in.

Large brown eyes coaxed Lauren into dancing with her to a crude sex song. She ignored the warning bells going off in her head and the uneasy feeling in her gut. Lauren would need more than two hands to count the number of times Normani bad mouthed Camila Cabello. It was a continuous pattern throughout their relationship. Mainly because Camila is known as the schools fuckboy (fuckgirl in this case) and was constantly trying to break them up when they were together.

Now things have changed, Normani broke her heart and has no right to still claim that she is hers. Lauren doesn't have to listen to her yet her words are on repeat in her head. Out of pure defiance she pretends to fall into Camila's "trance" feeling Normani's eyes burn into the back of her skull.

Lauren merely planned on dancing with the Latina for a few minutes but her demands obviously weren't going to be met. Especially when Camila grabbed her hand and spun her around, pushing her ass into her crotch. Her heart began to race not out of lust but fear. She turned back around and took several steps back to put some space between them. Lauren finally allowed herself to get lost in the music, swaying her hips from side to side. A hand roughly grabbing her ass nearly made her choke on the spot.

"Come on Mami, you know you want me." Camila's breath caressed her ear. Lauren's spine shivered at how close they were. This seemed to be taken as a good sign, encouraging cold fingers to graze her exposed thigh.

"No, I don't." She gently pushed the girl away and began to walk off. Camila's hand wrapped around her forearm and tugged her backwards. Due to the heels she wore, Camila was towering over her. Tears of frustration filled her eyes, her strength was no match for Camila's abnormal one. Lauren was suddenly yanked away from the brown-eyed girl completely and with Dinah, Ally and Kehlani in less than a minute. It were as if someone twirled her as lazily as possible. She ignored her friends words of reassurance and straightened her posture when she saw Normani. Normani who was standing nose to nose with the shorter girl despite her heels.

"She said she doesn't want you, Cabello, take a fucking hint." Normani nearly growled those words. Seeing Lauren in distress and having the same person that caused it in the same room was enough to set her off.

Camila chuckled, shrugging off her tone then smirked.  "Like she want's your cheating ass, Kordei."

Everyone in the room either ooo'ed or watched silently with anticipation. Normani pointed her index finger at her head with her elbow bent. "Like she wants the person that blackmailed me into cheating on her for her own personal gain and is just a motherfucking sexist piece of shit with abnormally large brown eyes that does not listen to the word no."

Lauren's mouth fell open in shock, she removed her bruised arm from Dinah's gentle grip. "You did what?!" She shouted with her eyes zeroed in on the culprit for her heart being broken.
