The weekend wasn’t one to brag about, apart from the fact that my Dad didn’t return home, he was on a business trip for the week. Saves me a few bruises, being that the one on my cheek is a bitch to cover up. Mom had calmed down ever so slightly after the incident and hasn’t spoken a word, or even thrown a look in my direction, not that I was complaining I’d rather that than a bloodied nose.

Throwing the covers off I traipsed over to the bathroom, hopping into the shower, the warm water cascaded down my body causing my stiff muscles to relax and smoothen. Washing slowly, I finally made it out of the bathroom after half an hour and fuck was it chilly! A white towel being my only coverage around my waist, dragging myself back into my bedroom, I dried and dressed quickly to avoid the cold chill of the air. Turning to look in the mirror, I sighed at the state of my face. Time to clean up! Got to look at least half decent for Jenny, not that I even have to bother, he loves me already. Ha- I wish!

HONK*

I heard Damien outside blaring his horn, picking me up for school was a usual occurrence as my parents believed that a sinful child doesn’t deserve any luxuries, this includes a car. Quickly finishing up with my face I grabbed my bag and hurried into Annie’s room to see her setting her Barbie dolls up in their houses. Making my way over to her I kissed her on the forehead, to which she smiled.

“See you tomorrow Angel, remember you are staying at Kacey’s tonight; so make sure mom drops you off okay,” I reminded to which she nodded and waved as I made my way out the door and down the stairs. Reaching Damien’s car I jumped into the front seat, maybe too quickly as I hit my head on the way in.

“Owww!” I pouted whilst grabbing the side of my poor head, which really hurt. Why put the roof so low! Can’t they see that people can easily hurt their head on it, me being a very clear example of that! I could have knocked myself out and gotten a concussion! I would sue, yes most definitely! Did I mention that it really hurts?

“Whoa, chill dude! You seem rather hyperactive today, good weekend?” Damien and Katie knew all about my parents, so we could talk about it, I wouldn’t say easily, but you get my drift. They still try to avoid the topic, even though they are always concerned, just to dodge the tension, especially in school; I don’t have any intensions of anybody else finding out, pity is not something I need.

“Actually it wasn’t too bad, Dad didn’t come home, so that’s always a bonus,” Damien still had a slightly worried face however it had softened considerably from the mention of my Dad.

“Alright then, and remember practice after school, got to get these bad boys back into shape!” He exclaimed excitedly, flexing his muscles, with me nodding and chuckling in return, Damien loved practice, considering he was short, he took it as a great opportunity to show everyone what his short ass can do. We pulled into our space nearest the gates, grabbing our bags and getting out, only to be greeted by our adoring fans. Well, maybe not, but they might as well be, they follow us around like lost souls. Flinging my arm around Damien’s shoulder earned a few squeals from the girls, and we continued on to our lockers, which were conveniently next to each other.

“Oh Shit, I forgot!” I gave him a strange look, telling him to continue. “Kent. I need to pick his lazy ass up, fancy keeping me company?” Kent was Damien’s older brother; he had left the state for business when he was eighteen, which seemed to be going well, judging by all the articles in the paper anyway.

“He’s back?”

“Yeah I know, and apparently he’s met someone and is bringing them down with him, all he told me is to keep my hands to myself.” He huffed, faking disappointment at that little fact. I smiled and agreed; intrigued with seeing how he has changed in the past four years. Once reaching homeroom, we made our way into our usual seats, with Miss. Hobday beginning the register. Thinking about it, I haven’t seen any sign of Kati- Oh never mind. The door slammed open, revealing the devil herself. Her hair was ruffled, in a windswept, yet still slightly attractive way, causing me to chuckle at her un-kept appearance, her eyes shot to mine in a scowl, which only made me laugh harder, trying to muffle it with my hand. She came and sat next to me, attempting to tame her hair and clothes.
