hey guys, i hope someone's reading this, becuase i can't tell if it's any good and i need some feedback! if you're reading, comment please and tell me, and i'll love ya forever. :)
"Mags, it's time to wake up. You're flight's leaving in two hours." My mom said gently.
I groaned. In two hours, I would be hopping on a plane and leaving my best friend, my adorable cat, and my whole world behind. But, at the same time it was my ticket out of here. Away from Kelsie, and away from my mom.
I really love my mom, I do. I know somewhere deep down she loves me too, but she just doesn't know how to be a parent. Everything she says she does for me is actually to benefit her. I'm glad I won't have to live like that anymore.
After eating breakfast with many glares and smirks from Kelsie, I got dressed in some black Soffees, a navy blue cami, and some really old white flip flops. I threw my crazy, dumb curly hair up into a high messy bun and didn't even bother with makeup; some sunglasses would hide the hideousness. Why should I have to look pretty? If I'm gonna be on a plane for seven hours, you can bet your ass I'll be sleeping. I got no sleep last night so I'll be out like a light once I sit down in my seat, and I refuse to be uncomfortable.
As if she could hear what I was thinking, Kelsie appeared in the doorway. "Nice outfit, loser." She sneered. "You know, to pull of Soffees you actually have to have a butt." She laughed and walked away.
I turned to the mirror in my closet and took a peek. Huh. Maybe I don't have much of a butt. Oh well, it's not like I need to look like a superstar to go see my dad.
I finished packing and my mom and Marty helped me bring my bags downstairs. We took off (leaving Kelsie behind, thank God) and were stopping at Jess's house for a quick goodbye before going to the airport.
We arrived at Jess's and she was already outside, standing there in a big, ratty sweatshirt and slippers. "Jess, you look like a homeless grandma. Come here." I said as I ran to her and gave her a huge hug.
She hugged me back even tighter. "Maggie, I'm going to miss you so much. I.. I don't even.." She started crying really heavily, which of course made me start crying.
"Jess, you're making me cry!" We laughed. "I promise to keep in touch and text and email you as often as is humanly possible, okay?"
"Alright. Just don't forget about me! If I lose you, I don't know how I'll go on." She sobbed into my shoulder.
"I could never forget you. I can't live without you, sweetie." I was glad I didn't wear makeup. I would look like a clown by now.
My mom honked the horn. "Mags, honey, we need to go or you'll miss your flight," my mom called out the window.
"Aw, Jess, I gotta go. I'll text you as soon as I can." I said gently.
"I love you Mags," She whispered.
"I love you too." I replied. We broke apart and I climbed back into the car. I waved to her as we drove away.
I put in my earbuds and tapped 'shuffle' on my list of One Direction songs. Moments started playing, and I was crying again.
Later, we arrived at the airport and my mom and Marty said their final goodbyes.
"Mags, baby, I'll miss you so much." She hugged me quickly. "I love you, have a safe flight. Let me know when you land." She wasn't even crying. I felt a pang of hurt in my chest. How could she not cry? Her only daughter was hopping on a plane to England and she wouldn't see me for at least like two years! 'I love you?' Yeah, sure. I held back tears and was once again thankful that I chose not to wear makeup and that my sunglasses were concealing my red, wet eyes.
