They walked further away from town until houses were out of site, except for one. The Hut. Now, it was getting late and they needed a place to relax so they decided to go down to the Hut and sleep there for the night. Luckily those evil spirits only come out after Halloween which was next week. But they keep a record of who sleeps at the Hut so they can kill them all.
James opened the wooden gate of the Hut and looked around whilst Lily stayed outside to keep guard for anyone coming. Surely enough a man came running passed and with a creepy smile in his face turned around and said 'See you at Halloween!' then ran off. Quickly, Jade opened the gate ran over to James and said 'There's no one here let's sleep here for the night.' And so they did, they slept well.
And in the morning decided to explore the forest. As it seems they walked off into the dark and rusty forest watching the birds fly past and listening to all the forest sounds. Leaves rustled behind them, Jade jumped and turned round, she was relieved to see it was just a rabbit. They sat down near a tall oak tree and talked for a while, then came across a dip in the ground. It looked like a giant crater, but there was something odd about it. Scattered across the crater were ten dead explorers.
Dark skinned, lifeless bodies just lying there in a forest, if you looked closer you could see on every one of them was a marking that looked like a Greek letter. And a whole where the heart should have been. Screaming, James and Jade ran out of the forest and locked themselves back into the Hut.
