Iris laid still, legs tangled with his. Sweat slick skin touching as they both tried to catch their breath. Her dark hair fanned the pillow and lay against his toned chest. She waited for the guilt of what she just did to crash in on her but it didn't come.

She turned to look at Ethan and found him leaning in his elbow smiling down at her.

“You were amazing.” he told her quietly.

“So were you but we…”

“Don't, no buts. Don't start regretting this until you at least give yourself a chance to get to know me.”

Iris looked at him, he looked and behaved far older than his twenty five years. The way he treated her, he was definitely a gentleman from what she could tell. Then again what did she know, she had only met him less than twenty four hours now.

Yes, there it was. The guilt and shame she was waiting for. Not only had she slept with her friend's son but she hadn't even known him for a whole day yet.

“You're doing it.” he said with a sigh

She rolled away from him and reached for her dress that was discarded by her bed. She felt like he saw far too much just looking at her face. It unnerved her.

“Doing what?” she replied with her back still turned.

“Thinking too much.” he replied

She heard him sigh and pull on his clothes. When she thought he would leave he only came to her side of the bed and sat down.

“Look I  know there's a vast difference in age between us. It doesn't bother me so I hope to God it doesn't bother you. I don't see you as a older woman when I look at you. I just see a beautiful attractive woman when I look at you. I guess you could say we rushed into having sex but, I think it was inevitable. I'll see you later.”

When he kissed her on her cheek and left Iris was all sorts of confused.

The next few days were spent with Ethan randomly popping up on her doorstep or in the flower shop. If Hannah thought it strange that they were spending so much time together, she never said anything about it. Then again she probably didn't expect her friend to be sleeping with her son. It only happened once but Ethan surely made it known he wouldn't mind a repeat. He kissed her every chance he got and when he couldn't he would sneak random touches.

They also spent time talking about every and anything. She found out he was studying real estate law and he also hoped to one day open his own chain of hotel and spa. She could see him doing it too, he definitely was the take charge and let it happen type of guy.

He didn't push her to open up to him, which is maybe why she found it so easy to talk so freely. They spoke about her life growing up in Farmville and also about her last relationship. They only had a few things in common which is maybe why they found each other so interesting.

She tried hard to not think of him in a sexual way but it was pointless. He only needed to send her one of his smiles to leave her feeling hot and bothered.

“Missed me?”

She broke herself out of her daydreaming and saw Ethan leaning next to the door. She hadn't even heard him come in. That's how she knew she had it bad.

She blushed and nodded, she realized she actually did miss him. She hadn't seen him all day because he had spent the day in town with his mother. Hannah wanted to show him around.

“Good because I couldn't stop thinking about you all day.” he told her

As he walked over to her she anticipated his touch. She realized she missed being touched by him too. He tucked her hair behind her ear and cupped her face in his hands. She closed her eyes and leaned into his hands and welcomed the feel of his lips as he kissed her.

“You're a breath of fresh air Iris Clark.”

“Have you been feeling stifled?” she asked as she looked up at him.

“Sometimes I get in my head and stress myself out. Other times I feel like life is trying to drag me under the waves.”

“You have to surf the tides. Drowning is not an option.”

“Don't let me drown OK?”

“I'll try not to.”

At that point they both knew they were admitting that this thing between them wasn't just physical. It had started to evolve into something else.
