The mellifluous sounds

enchant my ears as the birds

sing their songs first

cautiously, then gradually more

boldly.

The sky painted the earth.

That which was once

dusty, bone-dry, parched for life

is now filled with the clear

drops of tasteless liquid

that can change the landscape

in a single downpour.

Now the sky-bound arch binds the pieces together.

The broken is fixed.

The old is made new.

Rain brings ethereal revival.

The thirst of the land is quenched; its cup overflows.

The sweet smell

permeates the air.

There is no scent as sweet as the scent that follows the rain.
