After the wedding, time seemed to fly, and soon a month had passed.

Izzie spent most of her time in her room or wondering the large home that she had been given free reign of after the wedding. She attempted an escape twice a day, so often that they started allowing her to get as far as the woods before coming after her. They could catch up with her easily, without even trying. They even sent innocent, baby Ian after her one time. That was just insulting. He thought it was a game.

She had learned a lot in her time there. One being that Ian was indeed the baby of the family, meaning the child before Ian was eighteen years old. She had met most of the children, their spouses, and the grandchildren. They all seemed pretty indifferent to her, like the wives.

Henric didn't force anything on her except for his presence. He seemed to love being around her, but he didn't make her consummate their relationship. She had to admit, in an odd way it made her hate him less. Also, for her mental health, she decided to treat the whole experience as just that, an experience, it was indeed one hell of one.

But Izzie was lonely and she missed Hiro, she never thought it was possible to be even lonelier than she was at school, but despite Koa's friendliness and Henric's devotion, she was lonely. Koa had grandchildren to see after and Henric had a baker's dozen more wives and a pack. They couldn't always be around.

"What's wrong, treasure?" Henric appeared just as she was contemplating making her daily dash for the woods. She took her gaze off the huge trees surrounding the property and turned to face the smirking Henric. "Maybe you would be more successful, if you tried your escape at different times of day instead of the same times?"

Izzie shrugged. "But after lunch is always the best time, you see, I can run off a good meal while also failing miserably." She said unhappily.

He approached her and grabbed her hand, placing a gentle kiss on the back of it. She pulled her hand away like always. "You seem sullener then normal."

Izzie gritted her teeth, he was so patronizing and controlling. "Well, I think I deserve to act a little...how I'm acting."

He made a thinking noise. "Would you like to order more clothing and things, I can have the computer sent up to your room." That's what he always did to appease her, sent the computer up to her room and let her go on shopping sprees, or revenge shopping sprees as she had named them, considering she was trying to make him go broke each time. It had yet to work.

She huffed. "No," she already didn't have any room in her closet, "don't try buying my affection, grandpa."

He laughed and grabbed her chin gently, making her face him. "What is wrong?" He seemed to study her face. "You're lonely." He supplied, shocking her. He smiled. "You're an easy one to read, Izzie. Also, I like to think of it as a gift I have, reading my wives and understanding how they're feeling."

She rolled her eyes. "If that was true you would know your wives hate me," she said.

"None of them hate you...except for Bella and that's because she's jealous."

She stared at him in disbelief. It was true, none of the wives seemed to hold any vitriol against her except for Bella, who gave her glares at the mandatory 'family' dinner and made snide comments about 'humans' constantly. But still, he had noticed and didn't do anything.

"Well, you should stop marrying other women and making your wives unhappy since you understand how they feel so well." She snapped.

He looked off towards the sky. "Just because I understand doesn't mean I care, Izzie."
