Chapter 2

    Jesse went with Lukas to his cabin to help him pack. Jesse was still shocked from his sudden request to live with her. Her face was a light red just remembering it. Lukas turned to her to see her flustered.
"What's up, Jesse?" Lukas asked. Jesse's soul jumped out of her skin for a split second.
"N-nothing! Just..." she laughed nervously. "Just helping you pack books!" She finished as she continued to put books in a chest from off the shelf.

Lukas gave her a puzzled look, then went back to packing. Lukas did a small laugh as he grabbed something from in his closet.
"Jesse check this out!" Lukas exclaimed as he held it up.
"Whoa! It's your old Ocelot jacket!" Jesse recognized it instantly, she ran over to check it out.
"This is quite a few years old." Lukas said with a nostalgic look on his face.

"Got any plans for it?" Jesse asked.
"Hmm, I bet you could fit it." Lukas replied, holding it up to her.
"M-me?" Jesse questioned.
"Yeah, the Ocelots are back after all, and you don't have one." Lukas added.
"W-what about Radar? He doesn't have one yet either." Jesse mentioned.
"I'm sure we can make him one if he wants one." Lukas was confused on why Jesse was hesitating so much.
"Well, if you insist!" Jesse's chipper voice returned as she took it out of his hands and put it on.

She spun around in a circle, showing Lukas the Ocelot on the back.
"What do you think?" Jesse asked.
"You look fantastic!" Lukas replied ecstatically.
Jesse looked at him, and Lukas stared right back.
They were like this for a few moments before Lukas' Ocelot meowed impatiently.

"Oh, r-right...we should uh." Lukas stuttered.
"Yeah, get back to packing, r-right!" Jesse agreed, stuttering as well.
They spent the next hour packing up Lukas' stuff, they had Lluna carry some on some side chests Jesse placed on her. Lukas and Jesse carried the rest as they headed out. Lukas' Ocelot and Horse following behind.
"So, what are you going to do with your cabin now?" Jesse asked.
"I think it'd be a good place for us to escape to when we need the fresh air away from everyone." Lukas said as he sighed contently.

They reached Jesse house, Lluna and Lukas' horse ran up ahead in excitement.
"Huh." Lukas commented.
"What?" Jesse asked.
"I haven't seen where you lived in recent years, and I expected a tree house." Lukas admitted.
"Oh." Jesse laughed. "Radar had a fear of heights when I first met him, so I decided to build us a house on the ground." Jesse responded.
"Oh? Radar lives here too?" Lukas asked.

"Yeah, he didn't have anywhere to go, so I offered my place, I was going to build him his own house at some point, but he likes living with me instead. So it just stuck." Jesse explained, Lukas nodding slowly in understanding. They headed for the door, as soon as Jesse was going to prop her chest on her knee, the door opened.

"Oh! There you are Radar!" Jesse exclaimed.
"Jesse? What are you up to?" Radar asks, holding the door open, letting them in.
Jesse and Lukas walked inside, Lluna and the Ocelot walking in behind them.
"Whoa, an Ocelot?!" Radar looked down at him surprised, he looked up at him and meowed.
"Oh, that's Dewey." Lukas said "he's my Ocelot." Radar's eyes widened as he stared at Dewey.
"How did you tame him?? I heard Ocelots were impossible!" Radar exclaimed, slowly lowering hand to pet Dewey.
"I stayed in an enclosure I put him in for a month, with fish in my pocket until he came over to me." Lukas explained, laughing nervously.

Dewey sniffed Radar's hand.
"How did you get him in there?" Jesse asked, not knowing this story.
"Oh, I used a spawn egg." Lukas explained.
"Spawn egg?" Radar asked.
"Oh! You kept one?" Jesse questioned, knowing what he was talking about.
"Yeah, a spawn egg was from Sky City, Benedict laid it."
"Ooooh I heard of Benedict." Radar did a short laugh.
"I saw a spawn egg with yellow with brown spots, and when I hypothesized that they were color coded to what was in them, I realized it was possibly an Ocelot, so I took it with me and gave it a shot." Lukas explained, now sitting on the couch in the main room.

"Fascinating!" Radar exclaimed, spooking Dewey, causing him to back away.
"Oh, I'm sorry Dewey." Radar apologized a little quieter. Radar slowly showed Dewey his hand again, Dewey looked over at Lukas, who gave him a reassuring smile. Dewey turned back to Radar and sniffed his hand again. Radar slowly moved his hand to Dewey's back and started stroking. Dewey flinched for a second but realized he was being petted, and began to purr and rub up against Radar's hand.

Radar squealed as silently as possible.
"Good job, Radar! He should trust you from now on." Lukas congratulated.
"Now just keep petting him like that for awhile in the future and someday he might let you pet his stomach. "Lukas added.
"How long did it take you to get that far?" Radar asked.
"2 months." Lukas replied while opening a book.
"Wow, I hope I can get that someday." Radar awes at the thought, making Lukas laugh.
"You'll get there, he liked you faster than he liked me, who knows, you might break my record." Lukas adds.

"What about Jesse? How far has she gotten with him?" Radar asks.
"Oh, she's really close to getting to the belly rub. She's been trying for 3 months." Lukas replies. Radar stands back up and walks over to him.
"Oh uh my question wasn't answered, what are you up to?" Radar asks.
"He's moving in, Radar." Jesse replies from the kitchen area.
"Moving in?!" Radar yells, making Dewey scamper under the protection of the couch. Jesse giggles.
"Yeah, he wanted to settle down in town and asked if it could be here." Jesse blushed a little.

Radar gave a suspicious look, with a grin
"Is that so?" Radar teased, causing Lukas and Jesse to blush.
"Well, welcome home, Lukas! Good to have you here!" Radar said, returned to normal.
Jesse returns from the kitchen with a sheet of cookies.
"Tada!" Jesse exclaimed as she set them on the table by the couch.
Radar and Lukas walked over and took some.
"Thanks Jesse!" Radar said chowing down on his cookie.
Lukas took a bite of his and smiled.
"You did a good job on these Jesse." Lukas complimented, causing Jesse to smile from ear to ear.

"I'm glad I did good! I learned from the best after all." Jesse said back, causing Lukas to blush. They ate their snack and Radar yawned.
"It's getting late, I'm heading to sleep..." Radar groaned as he shuffled to his room to the left of the living room. Jesse and Lukas looked at each other.
"So, what now?" Lukas asked.
"My room is upstairs, want to head up and unpack?" Jesse asked. Lukas blushed.
"Your room?" Lukas asked shyly.

"Yeah, I don't mind sharing..." Jesse trailed off as any further would make her explode from embarrassment.
"Well...of you insist." Lukas started as he took his bed from his inventory.
"I'll just put this over here." Lukas places his bed three blocks away from Jesse's, then sits on the edge of it, facing Jesse's bed. Jesse joins in as she sits on her bed.
"So uh...L-Lukas?" Jesse began.
"Hm? What is it?" Lukas asked.

"I uh...I'm going to be honest with you..." Jesse stammered, stroking her hair nervously, Lukas just looked at her, his listening expression on his face.
"I'm just..I'm confused."
"What about?" Lukas asked, interest perking.
"After I got back, you've been so nice to me. Even after everything Romeo did to you using my face..." Jesse trailed off as tears started to form in her eyes.
"I noticed you hesitate to hug me when I hugged you..." Jesse mentions, looking up at him. Lukas looked at her in shock.

"I-I've been hesitating..?" Lukas questioned, looking down at his hands, Jesse nodded slowly.
"With that fact, I've been doing everything I can to make it up to you, hoping to fix our...relationship..."
"So, when you asked if you could move in with me, I was completely confused, but I was so happy as well." Jesse added, a sad smile appearing on her face. Lukas looked back up, tears falling down his face.
"I...I'm so sorry, I-I didn't know this was happening." Lukas stammered.

"No it's okay! I understand." Jesse quickly stood up and sat next to him on his bed, grabbing his hand. She raised it to her cheek.
"We'll get through this...I just know it!" Jesse exclaimed, Lukas nodded then smiled.
"Yes, I agreed whole heartedly." Lukas hugs her with no hesitation, Jesse hugs as the tears in her eyes fall.
"Thank you..." Jesse whispers.
