A Traitor

The road was long and winding, weving it's way through the trees like a snake. The days wdere dark, but we  had enough hope to see through the times. The city of Whiterun had fallen to the Stormclock army and we had fled the city. The cuts I had sustained were beyond any that others could handle. Arrows had been flung from the city, catching me in the back, my friend wasn't injured.

"Ugh. Well paarthanax we made it. So now what." His voice sounded very suspicious, like he was hiding something. 

"We go to Falkreath." My voice assured him that we would go our journey seprotly.

"Sorry paarthanax, but you know that if we go to Falkreath, we will be killed. So I shall kill you here instead."

His words were like a jagged blade. My only friend, betrayed me. He drew his knife, plunging it deep with in muscle, I retaliated with a slash to his eye. He let go of the blade, running off into the distance. "Ugh. You son of a milk drinker. I get you for this. I swear to sithis when I find you, I will gut the very life from you." My words began to splutter, a mixture of blood and spit filled my mouth, the knife was still encased within me. I blocked out. I can't remember what happened but I do know that I awoke in the dark brotherhood sanctuary, the home of the assassins.

A fair young woman stood in the corner of the room, flipping a blade in the air and catching it again. Her hair was long, and raven coloured. Her mouth was covered by a mask. She stared blankly into my eyes as I sat up on the makeshift bed, the wool cloth bearly holding my weight.

She stopped flipping her knife, and came over to me. I began to back away. Was she going to kill me or not?

"I know who you are, I can help you seek your revenge. All you have to do is kill this man, take it as a test. Then once he is killed come back here." She walked away, tossing me a small knife, it looked distinctively like a shiv.

I could not tell you who she was,  but the moment our eyes met, I knew some thing was special about her.
