Cole was the leader of the Ninja and the foundation of the team. The strong rock that is supposed to keep him himself together and be the support of the team in their time of need. Mountains have seen change, good and bad. Mountains represent looks so strong and and so stoic. But...do mountains shed tears for the forest and the animals below them then they get caught up with death? When no one is looking? Does anyone know the mountain is in pain and only covered by the rocky exterior?
Jay is the jokester and the blabber mouth of the ninja team. Quick on his wit and feet. He is a good boyfriend to his girlfriend. He may be emotional and have insecurities, but stupid he is not. Blue jays are intelligent and beautiful birds. They are vigilant to see what their friend is going through. These birds have patience of a saint. It waits for the mountain to come out of his room as he painfully listens to the tears. He will endure the, "I'm fine"'s , the "Don't worry about me"'s , or even "Will you leave me alone"'s. The blue jay was known for something is to bully of smaller birds...or in this ones case in the past to act harsh to the mountain. That bird learn his mistake and learned what blue jay's are known for. Loyalty. He stays be the mountain's side. Whenever he come out of his room, he walks beside him, staying wisely silent. The bird sits by him, not making a chirp. He will let the mountain talk when he is ready. The mountain stays silent.
One day, it was decided that Cole would go on a journey to find his Sensei. A wise man who helped Cole heal after a devastating loss. That wise old man helped the mountain become stronger while keeping his heart soft and tender. The mountian layer's had cracked over the years. He loss his mother, then Sensei, he had lost a Dr. Julian, then Zane, then his best friend, then he had lost Sensei Garmadon, he had lost P.I.X.A.L., and then he lost his first Sensei again. He had a feeling a lost someone else as well....but he could not remember. He didn't wish to know. He was tired of it. He was so tired of it.
The blue jay didn't want to follow the water's way right now. He wanted to follow the mountain. To be there for him. The river understood that. With her blessings, the blue jay flew with the mountain on the search of their lost master.
Some mountains were volcanoes once. If they have to most host stress and emotions they bottled up for so long, they will burst and hurt those around them.
"Cole, we need to talk." Jay said one day while they were settling in they temperary campfor the night.
"Oh not this again. Look, Jay, how many times have I told you I am fine." Cole was unpacking cooking items.
"And I am the Empress of Ninjago. I am not buying it and I never will. Cole, it's been months since-"
"Drop it Jay." Cole interrupted as he shakily got out a bottle of water.
"I have been waiting Cole. I have been patient with you. It hurts seeing you like this. I am here for you. You can't bottling up your emotions."
"I. Said. Drop. It. Jay." Cole gritted his teeth.
"You are changing and it is scaring me. I mean what kind of Cole doesn't eat cake anymore? Sensei-"
The bottle of water exploded in Cole's hand as he whipped around to face his friend.
"The kind of Cole that is is going to take more responsibility in my life! The kind that needs to change so I won't look anyone again! I lost my mom! I lost Sensei Garmadon! I lost Dr. Julian! I lost P.I.X.A.L.! I lost you for a while! I lost my team for a while! I lost a potential love! I lost Lloyd for a while! I lost touch for a while! Then I lost Sensei Wu! I am sick and tired losing everyone and everything! You don't have a clue how painful this is! All you have been doing is tinkering, make jokes, being with Nya, and not leaving me alone! For once, just SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Cole's face was red with fury and tears about to burst. He through the bottle in the ground and stormed off. Jay didn't follow him this time. The hot anger from the lava Cole's words spewed out was still hot and stinging. He knew the mountain turned volcano needed to cool down for a while.
After a half an hour or so, Jay decided to go find him. It didn't take long to find him. Cole was curled into a ball, a few feet from the edge of the cliff. In the across the lake below them stood a mountain. Jay stayed silent as he sat a could of steps away from him.
He stayed quiet. Jay was not sure if Cole knew he was there. His answer was confirmed when Cole rasped,"I remember Sensei once told me that mountains obstacles that we must come over. spiritually, mentally or for success or improvement." He sniffed. "I am called the foundation of the team by many. I feel like I am the mountain. I have overcome obstacles before. I have improved didn't I? I..we have built our team over time we have become formidable. No one could touch us right? No matter how much they try to pull us down, we climb back up."
Cole then lifted his head from his knees and looks at his best friend with puffy red eyes with tears streaming down his blotched red cheeks." Then h-h-how does foundation of the team re-rebuild himself....and climb over this obstacle?"
Jay gave it some thought. He then wrapped both arms around his neck. "You have friends and family to help you climb up. Sure, there is somethings that you need to do by yourself. I can't fix you Cole, but I can help you. So can the rest of our family." Jay tightened his grip on his best friend, bringing his face closer to Jay's chest. The lightening ninja continued, "Like volcanoes, we can't hold everything in. We gotta let those feelings out. Sharing the problems and feelings we have may not fix everything right away, but it helps. I am sorry I was trying to force you to talk. I just...."
Jay began to shake as tears bubbled up from his eyes. "I am j-j-just worried about you...... I want m-m-my best f-friend back..."
Cole let out a shaky breath as he hugged his best friend back. Jay buried his face into Cole's thick black hair. After a moment, Cole sniffed,"J-Jay, I am sorry I snapped at you. It's..it's just been so hard...." Jay nodded has tears slid down his freckled cheeks.
Cole began to shake. He held his brother closer to him. It felt more needed to be said. For now, crying is the best thing they can do right now. They both needed it as they needed each other.
(I am not sure if this is good. I have been watching Season 8 of Ninjago. I realized that Jay could have gone with Nya on the mission against the evil samurai, but he went with Cole to help search for Wu. It opened my eyes to the thought that Cole needs Jay and Jay knows it. Cole was one of the few closest to Wu. And it made it even more evident that Wu help Cole through the death of Cole's mother. Although there is no clips of that, it is pretty obvious Wu helped Cole though that hard time in his life. The bond must have grew closer when Wu trained Cole help control his ghost powers when he was still a ghost. Cole could not even step in to say Lloyd is the master now. Jay did that. Cole was too devastated. To Cole, he lost another member of his family. Jay and Cole may be opposites, but they are best friends and need each other. Jay knew Nya was capable of taking care of herself and he knew Cole is still going through difficultly of losing Wu. He knew Cole shouldn't be alone and went with him. Jay is Cole's supporter, even if they do bicker. I just find their friendship and brotherhood so endearing. I hope you enjoyed guys. Take care!)
