"So, Thomas. Ready for the next video?" Patton chuckled, his same old smile on his face.
Thomas smiled back at him. "Sure thing...but wait, where's Vigil?" He looked around when making this statement, but no one except Roman even batted an eye.
"Well...he's been in his room since the last video..." Roman muttered, avoiding eye contact with his whole self.
"You mean to say that my anxiety has locked himself in the place where he can become unpredictable and powerful for weeks?! And no one thought to tell me?" This time, Patton joined Roman's sheepishness.
"Well, we sorta assumed it'd work itself out...it usually does..."
"You mean this happens often?! Oh dear lord..." Thomas sighed, and tried his hardest to summon Virgil, but to no avail.
Logan sighed, and re-adjusted his tie. "Fine, I'll go knock for him." He disappeared, but came back almost instantly.
"He wasn't there, but I found this taped to his door." He handed a sheet of paper over to Roman, who held it in shock. Thomas snuck a glance, and all he could see were four words, and a surprisingly well drawn picture of a man. The man had his eyes blacked out and a cross over his mouth.
Thomas shuddered.
He looked over to the words, and tried to work out why the others seemed upset by it. "C'mon guys, it's just a war-time campaign..."
"Not to Virgil." Roman replied flatly, and handed the sheet back to Logan. "Thomas, I...I'm not sure he's coming back for a long time."
"What the...? Why won't you guys tell me what's wrong?!"
Patton gave a sad, half smile.
"It's for the best...believe me.""Well, the middle of believe is lie..." said an unconvinced Thomas.
The traits just nodded knowingly.
