"Angie, I said I'm fine... for the sixth time already. I'll be home soon, okay? Alright, bye."
I pressed the red button on my phone and put it in my pocket, feeling the warmth of it on my thigh. As I walked down Class Boulevard, I waved to a few shop owners, noticing that today was a fairly busy day. Cars littered the streets, along with busses and bike riders, corner shops filled with people, children playing on a local playground. A normal day, for a normal person. I made my way to Rhodes and Baits, stopping at Bermuda to take a picture of the now changing sky, I was a photographer, wasn't I? I couldn't help it. The clouds started turning dark and misty, then my hair started blowing due to the wind. And then the rain. It started as a few droplets, turning to big drops of water, completely soaking me and my clothes. I ducked into an alley, hoping to stay dry, but the alley wasn't covered like usual. I reached into my bag, trying to pull out my umbrella but struggling to do so, as it was dark and raining. The rain now coming down harder, I finally got my umbrella from my soaked bag. I felt a blunt pain on my back, making me fall on the hard, wet pavement. I start gasping for air and whimper from the pain. I looked to my side and saw a tall figure, covered by darkness, a shoe then came down over my face. Everything went black.
