The busy streets of Minado bleeding with smoke of cars. The sun, gone while fog had covered the tops of the skyscrapers. Oil, gasoline, booze, and sex filled the streets; hookers on one corner, drug dealers on another. Wires dancing through the buildings as vines across a jungle.
No star was able in the sky each night, after all the city never slept. Walking through the streets two men. One older with grey in his beard and glasses on his eyes. The other younger looking, stubble on his chin, his collar open showing dog tags on his neck. Each step they took hookers looking at their tails as they walked, most of the time one always swooning.
The two kept walking, the drug dealers hiding in dark corners as they walked. Coppers they were, detectives after all. The older one named Butler, the young one named Corna. The two stood in front of a bar. One with a tan trench coat and scarf. The other dressed in an opened suit jacket, dress pants, shoes, on his shoulders a gun holster. The two looked at the entrance of a bar, the older looking at his young partner with a smirk.
"Are you sure to still use her as our informant?" Butler asked. His hair with blended colors of brown, grey, and white. Under his glasses a pair of faded blue eyes. The kept beard on his face hiding a smirk, he knew well what was to happen.
"She's the only one to keep quiet after all this time," Corna took a step forward, his hand pressed on the door. "Besides, she is your daughter after all."
A grumble came from his partner's mouth as the two entered the bar. The Gold Hawk. A bar that almost everyone went to; drinks, or information this is where everyone went. The two stepped in, people stopping and looking at the two. Most turned back to what they were doing while some got closer, waiting if they needed to break any glass. Music blasted through the bar, the smell of marijuana filled the room as well as alcohol and other drugs. Butler pulled up a handkerchief covering his mouth as he coughed. "Why haven't we been able to close this place down?"
"Because what I run is all legal," standing in front of the two was the owner. She stood at Corna's shoulders. Dressed in tight black pants. Heels and only a leather vest, allowing her breasts and curves to be prominent. On her body were tattoos each with different meaning to her. Her hair shaved on one side, the rest flowing down to the right side of her face. Looking at them she had the same red hair as her mother and eyes as Butler, a smirk on the ruby lips she had. "Dad, Dante. What can I help you men to this time?"
The trio sat in a solo booth in the back away from anyone to hear. The detectives sat in the booth, her sitting on a chair in front of the two. Corna kept his eyes at her hands that were on the table, he couldn't look at her; an erection growing from the sight of her. Butler looked at her in awe, he still wondering how his daughter ended up working in the job she was in.
"Well? If you don't need anything, you better order drinks or else you're wasting my time." She got up in a nonchalant way, knowing she had drinks to make and information to tell.
"Audrey wait," she turned her head to the old man her eyebrow somewhat risen. "We need information, on one of your friends."
Looking at him she sat back down, anything involving them always had given her interest, "I'm listening."
Corna looked at his partner, a file thrown from the old man onto the table. "Homicide, this time he raped her before he took part of her skin." She looked at the photos in the file, her jaw clenched as they kept speaking. "She was last seen at your bar the night she died."
"Third girl from my crew, are the Feds going to get involved?"
"Maybe, possibly if we don't find out first," Corna pulled out a small bag with a piece of evidence, her looking at him. "The killer seems to have known you Aud." Her eyes went wide as she looked at the object, within the bag was a note reading For my Audrey. Gulping she looked at them then handed it back to them, either she was afraid, or she knew who it was.
