*Rachel POV*
Today Ryan said he had a surprise for me. I was anxious to know what it was and I couldn't wait any longer.
I decided to call him using the hospital phone.

A- Yes Rach, be patient.
R- I am a patient!
A- Very funny Rach. I'll be there in 10.
R- Okay, hurry please
A- Alright Rachel.

As time passed I watched the news to see what 'drama' I was missing.
'Breaking News: Maura Horan, Mother of Niall Horan part of the British/Irish boy band One Direction, suffers from major injuries in deadly car crash.
She was sent to the nearest hospital is Mullinger, Ireland. More news coming up after this'
Seconds later, the door opened revealing Ryan and someone I haven't seen in a while.
'Vanessa? Is that you?' I said tearing up. We had the best childhood together. Vanessa was Ryan's sister.
'Yeah, it's been a while Rachel' She choked out.
'Well, I will leave you girls to talk'
Ryan said leaving us.
'How are you?' I asked.
'I'm great. But enough about me. How are you?'
'I've been doing okay. I could be better though'
'Why don't we take a walk?'
'Sure, I haven't seen Ariana for a while.'
'Who's that?'
'Oh, she's the young girl a few doors down from me'
'Well Rachel, I would love to meet her'
We approached Ariana's door and peeked inside.
'Ariana, It's Rachel, can I come in?'
'Yes' I heard from behind the door.
'Hey Ari, How are you?'
'I'm not feeling to well right now'
'Oh, should I get Nurse Lauren?'
'Yes please'
I headed out the door and to the front desk where Nurse Lauren was.
'Hi Nurse Lauren. I was just in Ariana's room and she wasn't feeling to well'
'Okay. She just had her monthly treatment so she might not feel to well, but I will give her some medication.'
'Okay thanks'
I got Vanessa out of Ariana's room, so she could sleep, and we continued our walk.
We came upon the elevator and hit the highest level.
Six.
As the elevator rode up, we listened to the crappy elevator music.
We hopped out of the elevator and found that there was nothing to do at the top.
'We should go outside' She said.
We came back to the elevator and found our way to the first floor.
When we stepped out, there were multiple gurneys rushing past us.
I caught a glimpse of one person on a gurneys and apparently Vanessa did too because she said,
'Hey, isn't that Maura Horan? Why is she here?'
'Yeah it's Maura Horan. She was in a deadly car accident'
'That doesn't sound to good'
'No, it doesn't.'
We exited the hospital and found a bench to sit on.
I noticed two young guys sitting on a bench close enough to us that we could hear them speak. One of the guys looked like Niall Horan. But why would he be here? Then it came to me.
Maura Horan was in this hospital.
I didn't tell Vanessa because she was a fan and I didn't want to bug Niall and the other guy because it looked like they were crying.
I'm pretty sure they could hear us, but I am not the kind of person that can whisper. So they, will probably hear every word I say.
I kept Vanessa distracted so she wouldn't see Niall.
'So not to be rude but, what is cancer like Rachel?' She asked nervously.
I took a deep breath and started talking. I noticed Niall looking at us, but right now I didn't really care.
'It's a gift Vanessa.'
She look confused and so did Niall.
'A gift that I would love to return.'
I looked to see Niall and Vanessa smiling.
'But I can't return it. I can't exchange it either. But I wish I could.'
We all chuckled, even Niall.
'Did you hear that Rachel?'
'Hear what?'
'My phone beep?'
I let out my breathe that I was holding in longer than I wanted to. So did he.
'Vanessa, how about we go inside? I'm kinda getting cold.'
'Sure, Nurse Lauren texted me and asked where you were. I'm guessing she wants to see you.'
<yes the nurse texts>
We stood from the bench and went inside. We got back to my room where Nurse Lauren was waiting and Vanessa had to go.
'Bye Rachel. I will try and visit you again.'
'Okay. Bye Vanessa.'
